Scammer , recaster warning : latest alias Loganprops, recent alias Snikt Shop

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

It'd probably be better if we stuck to props, bad sales, and facts; not just criticizing his worn costumes and appearance.

It's unproductive and just makes us look bad.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

I have followed this for a while because the name seemed familiar to me and finally realized why when I remember him sending me a message about getting some X-men belt buckles from me a couple of years back when I still made props for friends and a local comic shop. At the time it seemed odd to me because he wanted them unfinished and when I messaged him back telling him I was no longer making them he asked if I would sell the molds to him so he could make them for a couple of friends for some charity events. I did not feel like selling them so he got mad and deleted me.

I never put the two events together until reading all of this and well. I am kinda glad I did not.

Ironcily I seen this on Comics alliance's page today and well.....

Yeah, I have to agree....I'm not defending him in any way, but this constant wave of horrible insults about his costuming and stuff doesn't exactly shed positive light on us either.

Some more horror-stories to add to the list....

I'm still collecting more....

To expand on the Captain America commission story, he just posted this in my Deviantart rant. Sorry no screencaps, I am computer illiterate.

HERE IS MY ENTIRE TALE OF WOE

Last year, about March or so, I decided to make an Avengers film Captain America. (At the time, Jim Logan AKA David Winat had friends requested me and we'd been FB "friends" for a few months). I had purchased some fabric to make said costume, but didn't have the means to make the accessories: Cowl, shoulder pieces, boots, gloves, belt and star.

I had noticed on “Jim's” wall that he was hurting for money. I wanted to help him out, so I ordered my accessories from him. He said it would be $450 for everything and that I could make payments. I did so and made my last payment August 16th. (Keep in mind, I was still paying off a car and preparing for Dragon*con). He told me at THAT point, he didn't start making anything until the last payment was made and there would be an 8 week turn around. (Really? He didn't start ANYTHING?!) I could have understood if I was having one sing;e big thing made, but he couldn't start the little things? Alright, fine. I was also supposed to send him the fabric to make the belt and be sewn beneath the cowl. For the net two weeks, I asked about the progress. I was going to be shooting a web series in January and as long as it was done by then, all would be fine. Over the course, I was told he had already purchased the supplies and started, however never received the fabric. (We sent it to the EXACT address he told me.) I chalked it up to maybe it had gotten lost in the mail. I told him just to refund me the belt and I would make it myself and just send the other stuff. He said NO REFUNDS. I accepted that. I told him not to worry about the fabric and STOP waiting for it. Just make what he could. I needed it.

He then posted on his wall that all business stuff needed to go to the “company' email and not his Pms. So, I did. Here is the result:

November 29th 2012

hello! I was informed I needed to come here for any questions about products ordered. My name is ///////////// and I ordered the Captain America Accessories.

- Belt (unable to do as fabric never arrived)
- Cowl
- Boots
- Gloves
- Chest star and silver shoulder bands.

I made my last payment in August, at which time I was informed that it was an 8 week turn around and I would have them by Halloween. It has been almost a month later to the day and the last Facebook message I received was on October 13th. I have messaged since then with no response.

I feel that I have been rather polite and patient during this time, but would like an ETA of my ordered items as it is getting down to the wire of when I absolutely HAVE to have them.

I paid in full $450.00 sent through Pay Pal (I have the records and receipts if needed).

Due the the dire need and time running out, I need to be informed if I need to try and find them somewhere else, or if said items are on the way, or almost done.

Please respond as quickly as possible.

(NO RESPONSE)

December 4th 2012

David,

I have waited patiently for you to respond to my Facebook messages and letter and you have neglected to do so. I understand you're very busy, however, I do find this to be bad business etiquette. I think that I have been very patient with you and I have gotten nothing but the run around or no response at all. I needed my items and all you have seem to concentrate on is parties/conventions/other people. Now, I separate you as a person from your business. I have no personal qualms with you, however, I will never be doing business with you again. I commissioned you because I was trying to help you. I could have gone to other people, but I believe in supporting "friends" on Facebook and what have you. Since this incident, I have found several other people in various forms that have sent you money and not received their products. A few from over a year ago. IF you will simply return my money (in full) within the next two weeks, then we will part ways and speak no more of it. However, other wise, I will be forced to consult paypal, as a friend has told me how to go back very far and I can retrieve every payment made to you. I will be posting my claim with Paypal on Friday, December 14th. Again, this is nothing personal. It is strictly business. I'm very sorry it had to come to this, but I still haven't received what I paid for and I have tried to compromise with you over and over with no response.

Thank you.

Hello, thank you for contacting The Snikt Shop. As you may know, Jim has had a lot of trouble keeping in contact with our many clients and he will be the first to admit this. I have filled the position of "Secretary"/Customer service to help get the Snikt Shop back on track. Our records show that you have an order in for some Captain America (Female) gear, but the order was on hold because we are still waiting on your fabric sample. Is there any luck with the fabric? We would like to finish off this project as soon as possible. We are working hard to catch up on ALL of our orders that have been delayed because of the loss of our seamstress as well as lack of communication on Jim's part, two issues that have been settled recently. Rest assured that your order has not been forgotten, NONE of them have, we have just fallen very behind for various reasons, some unfortunate, some Jim has been openly taking responsibility for.

We appreciate your patience more than you know.

January 24th 2013

I told Jim several times NOT to worry about the fabric. I can even post the conversation here. I told him to send me what he had done and I received no response. I was then removed from his friends list on Facebook, shortly there after. I have since found someone else to make my accessories since he never responded.

The items in question were paid off in August and he told me that I would have them by filming in early January. I needed them by January 11th in order to begin filming a webseries. It is now January 24th and I just now get a response.

I am not taking it out on you, because I understand how hard it must be for you to have to email all his clients. However, at this juncture, I had to look elsewhere for my project. I feel that I was very patient and respectful, but never received what I paid for 5 months ago. Again, I have records of me telling him more than once to omit the fabric and just send me what was finished and I would deal with the rest myself. I am still willing to receive what has been completed and the remainder of the difference of my money. If things are not finished, then I regretfully request a full refund, as I had expressed my desperate need for whatever he had finished and was not answered. Again, I do not hold you, personally responsible, and hope that you understand my frustration with the situation.

Thank you,

After much thought, and discussing it with my friend, I have decided that, I would rather just have my money back. I paid $450 total and have the pay pal "receipts" if proof is needed. I'm not trying to sound horrid, but business is business and nothing personal is held against you. As previously stated, in my last letter, I had to go somewhere else, and I don't feel that I need double pieces that may or may not be finished. Please get in touch with me as soon as possible or simply refund my money to my paypal account "email address”

Thank you

January 28th 2013

I am sorry if Jim made a mistake on the notes for your order. As I mentioned, Jim has had a VERY hard time keeping up with and handling the Snikt Shop's messages and customer service. I am here to pick up the pieces on that note and I assure you I will do the best I can in that department.

The EASY solution to getting out of this hole would of course be to simply refund everyone who's items are past due. I understand your frustration but, unfortunately, we are not in a good position financially and cannot opt for the easy solution. We will give the go ahead on your order to continue, matching the colors as best we can with what you have provided. We have hired new help to play catch up and though delayed, your order is in progress to be delivered as planned.

We would also appreciate that you do not exploit our private business matters, by copy and pasting our private conversations on public forum to entertain friends. We are trying to pick up the pieces, things like this are not helping. We appreciate our respectful customers working out their issues privatley as we make things right with each one, however we can within our power.

Once again we apologize for the delays and stress and thank you for your never ending patience as we work out the bugs and get the Snikt Shop back to it's normal state and then some!

January 28th 2013

So, now I will have my stuff twice. Well, some of it. Part of me is tempted to just tell you to keep my money and be done with it, because I had to go elsewhere to get my items. However, I did pay for said items and waited a very long time for them. I have no real use for them anymore, so I haven't a clue what to do with them. I also don't plan on waiting another month for them, even I can't use them now. I don't hold YOU personally responsible, as you had nothing to do with the situation. I am, however, livid beyond belief at the entire situation. I do expect a refund of what is not finished. I would also appreciate an ETA for my stuff.

I also do not have a "public" forum where I can post "Private business matters". I assume you are sending that bit to everyone considering the reputation that has escalated. Regardless, I am tired of waiting, tired of having to put everything on hold because I don't have it. Not that, at this point, I have any use for it now. I apologize for my rudeness, but I have never had this much of an issue in all my years of dealing with cosplay commissions. I just feel I wasted $450. I'm sure, in this economy, that is something you can understand.

Best Regards,

March 19th 2013

It has
nearly been two months since we have spoken and I have still heard nothing about my order. The Grapevine has expressed that David will be moving to California as early as the end of the month, at which time, I know I will never see my items. I feel that I have been extremely patient and gracious through the entire ordeal, but I also believe that I have had to wait far too long for them. This is my last request. I require by Monday March 25th, 2013 either my items in my hand, or my FULL refund in my paypal account. If one or the other has not arrived, I will be taking further actions and alerting the Better Business Bureau, as well and pursuing other avenues in order to get my money back. I am not trying to be difficult, but I have never, in my life, waited so long for any items and I know I will never get them as long as I remain meek. First thing Tuesday March 26th, I will be reporting the Snikt Shop and calling around for further assistance in my case. IF, however, the money or items are given to my person, no more will ever be corresponded or mentioned regarding the Snikt Shop. I apologize if I sound harsh, but my patience has grown wafer thin with my $450 which i feel I gave to a complete stranger.

Best Regards,

That was the last time I EVER heard ANYTHING from the company.

I reported them to the Better Business Bureau, to which, they never responded and the case was thrown out."

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

My favorite part is how Jim is pretending he is not the one responding to the emails here and the Snikt Shop is a separate entity? What the hell is that?

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Now that he has had this loss in his life I wonder how far back that will set his existing orders and if we will see a new surge of unsatisfied customers.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Seems like a stalling tactic.

Agreed. Sounds like this guy takes your money, then waits until you can't file a claim with PayPal. I keep hearing people say he tells them it will take 8 weeks. How long until you can't file a claim? I thought it was 45 days. Which is probably why he says its an 8 week turnaround, even for the smallest order.

I could understand if it was a special request, something super custom. But all this guy does is recast toys and other people's work. If he is soooo busy with all these customers buying his stuff, then he should have the molds ready to go. He literally just has to pour and paint. That's a two week job at the absolute TOPS.

I just don't understand. If he is swamped, then he should do the quick pours first, and while they are curing he can work on other people's stuff that he doesn't have molds for. Two birds with one stone.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

I really wish there could be a class action suit against him or charges pressed. But as many people have stated.... That is too expensive and he knows nobody wants to pay more in attorney fees than their initial loss. It is a shame a lawyer would not offer pro-bono services. The list of customers who have loss just keeps growing.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

hes too busy being a comic shop celebrity.

This^^. He should spend more time catching up on his obligations than wasting his work time showing off at these conventions.

You know, the very conventions that others can't attend in character because he can't get them done in time.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Has anyone tried yet to assemble a list of people who are stilled owed items or refunds? This thread seems to get off-track with opinions about Snikt's cosplay looks and rock-throwing back and forth, I would be worried that by losing focus on the original problems that have been brought up, a lot of the weight of what gets said here is lost.

Like a few others mentioned, calling him a sH%*&y Wolverine isn't getting anybody's problems solved, just giving something off-topic that (I think) hurts the legitimacy of people's complaints.

RacermachX- appears his Magneto helmets being recast and sold
Bronson BB- Before May '12, paid $150 for shin armor, still not received
jrnemetz321- Around May '12, paid(?) for a spiderman prop and never received
GrifterCustoms- Active poaching of clients
Guille- Paid $80 (deposit) for Magneto helmet, no product or refund
Hal2184- Ordered Scarlet Witch headpiece and cape with a 3+ month deadline, Received headpiece weeks late, no cape ever sent.
slarson802- March '12 ordered Captain America cosplay, Paid $450 in full August 16 '12, No product/refund.

penutbuttrbandt- Ordered product, did not receive responses (or product) until message-bombing Snikt FB and Snikt FB friends (lol)
RdMaul- Took 4 months to receive Wolverine claws, looked like rushed and modded Rubies

These were taken (fairly verbatim) from this thread, posted by the individuals themselves. (Apologies if I missed anyone) I'm sure there's more that people can dig up in other places, but I didn't want to cloud the water by dragging in other people's names from outside the RPF. The last two separated were the orders that, according to the thread posts, were paid for and received. Hopefully I've gotten the details correct, feel free to cut-and-paste if something isn't correct or needs to be added.

Now that's a pretty simple and concise list of the complaints posted in this thread. Doesn't look like a witch-hunt to me, looks more like some people that should be pretty pissed off if their experiences are accurate.

A couple days ago he posted on his FB a rant containing a link to this very thread because he wanted to show how we were picking on him. But it looks like he removed that post now. I can only assume it was because all the posts here showing customer comments and stories of how they were ripped off. I'm sure he doesn't want people on his page to read that info. :lol

Go back through all th posts where I post pictures, those are all accounts of him screwing people. In fact here's another one to add to the list:

This one never got his Magneto helmet either. I've got people on Facebook sending me their stories and reaching out to other victims for me.

Right, I saw those, but as I said above the list only included people who commented here in this thread directly. I do think that those people who have posted their grievances on Facebook should also be bringing them up here, in a forum where the only two people that will be changing/deleting statements and posts will be either the original composer or the moderators :D Pretty sad that seems like half the Facebook stuff is only available here now because of screencaps taken before deletion from the site.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

That's because the Snikt Shop doesn't like hearing they owe people money/props. He blatantly admitted to deleting comments by anyone who he owed money/props to so they wouldn't be spreading 'lies' (aka the truth) to where other potential customers could see them. That right there screams scam artist.

At the end of the day I could care less about this guy's shop and following. Never heard of it before this thread, certainly would never buy anything from it or recommend him to anyone. If what everyone here has said about him is all lies, he wouldn't be so defensive. The fact that he spends his time creeping on this thread to hear what others are saying about him, then trying to flip it all around saying how we are playing bully is a joke. He should spend less time updating his multitude of facebook pages all day with pity posts and spend more time fulfilling his backorder of customers.

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

Just a thought, but after reading up on the FOX news story where they confronted Chuck Fitch the Internet troll, I thought maybe that could be a route to run with this. What if one of the people scammed or recast contacted the LA FOX NEWS station and talked to their investigative reporter or problem silver reporter. Provide them a link to the statements of all the people scammed out of money by a local LA shop. It would be great to get a news station to do some digging and then confront him on camera at his shop or even at a con.

And before anyone says it.... Yes, that would shed light on replica costumes. But the studios know we exist and they are most likely monitoring us already. So it most likely won't shed anything new in a public eye.

Just a quick call to the news, speak with a reporter, email them links and the ball could be rolling :)

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

people get scammed daily and the news doesnt cover all of those. And the mainstream still sees cosplayers and such as a form of nerd even tho the perception is changing it hasnt changed enough.
