Sabine Wren Cosplay (Star Wars Rebels)

Hi guys. So, this is my next project that I'll wear in April (I think) and I'm getting started with this cosplay because I don't want to spend so much months stuck with just one cosplay.. So yeah, I choose Sabine because she's my favourite from Rebels (I also love Hera, but I don't think I can actually do a twi'lek cosplay this soon) but yeah, I'm pretty excited for this cosplay, because I'm working with different type of cosplay, I'm building guns this time and my first helmet!! So yeah, I do hope this costume turns out how I'm expecting :D

So here's some pics of Sabine's blasters (Westar-35 Blasters) and I build these two basically from scratch.. I used styrofoam, cardboard and eva foam, along with a modeling paste to fix the sides of the gun and hide all the layers of the gun. I build the blaster from a 3d file a find online and I turned into a blue print of the gun and resize to my desire size. I still think that I ended a little too big, but I liked it anyway. I need to finish the second one, and then move on to prime and paint.

But I do have a question, and is on the helmet.. Can anyone help me with the helmet? I don't know much how to build one, and since I didn't found any pepakura file of her helmet, I don't have a clue at all. So, please, if you guys have any tips, please help ;)

On thedentedhelmet you can find Boba Fett templates for using cardboard (I think mat board for framing specifically). You might be able to modify those.

Sabine's is the Nite/Night Owl helmet, isn't it? I know various people have done builds (e.g. thorssoli's, zihyer's) and casts, but I haven't seen a template or pep model around. Does anyone know if there is one available somewhere? (Also interested in building.)

--EDIT
*looks again, realises Sabine's is a new design and not the Night Owl bucket. Never mind.*
OK, looks like it has the Night Owl visor shape but the cheeks are somewhere between the Night Owl and the standard Fett. I guess asking around on TDH would turn up more info.

for my daughters cheap and easy build I used boba fett templates but rounded off the bottom off the helmet and changed the height of the cheeks.

Thanks! I'll ask around on TDH, I already have the pep file of Boba and Bo Katan's helmet, so I'll probably work around it.

don't worry about the bo katan as its wrong anyway. you will be able to adjust the boba one no problem......and I mean that like if I can do it, anyone can do it.

ooops, thanks for the comment about my daughter too. :)

Here I'm again, after sometime away.. So I think I may have found a way to make the helmet that is gonna be easy for me, since is my first time ever making a helmet.. I'm going to make with a bucket and a construction helmet (I've been searching through Mandalorian Mercs and I saw this topic that a guy build his mandalorian helmets using buckets, so I think it will work fine). My dad have this one laying around the backyard, so I'm taking for myself..

The only problem is that is cracked right in the front, so I think I'm gonna fix it with durepox (I don't know the name in english) and them sand to blend. The only problem to me is the middle thing on the helmet, since Sabine's and every Mandalorian helmet don't have this on the top. So I'm kinda worried about this part, so if you guys have any other tip for me to make the dome without using the construction helmet to me is gonna be awesome! And another thing that I thought and I'm not quite sure if is gonna work out.. After make the helmet, I thought of cover the base with foam, so is more thicker, but I don't know if is gonna work at all.. So I really need some help here.. I'm really lost on the helmet :confused

OMG, this looks amazing.. What kind of material did you use? It's this pepakura, or did you used something else? I actually used the wizard of flights templates for making my Sabine's helmet. I made some changes on the front and I didn't cut the cheeks because her helmet don't have it..

Its wizard of flights template from the dented helmet, i just modified the template, then traced it on Sintra plastic. So my helmet is mostly 3mm plastic except for the dome wich i used cardstock from a dollar store and then painted it with fiberglass and added bondo for smoothing and shaping. You can find sintra at plastic sign shops, when heated above stove you can curve it easy and has more depth than cardboard and is stronger.

I've seen a lot of variations of Sabine's helmets and almost everyone have a variation of the cheeks depths, when it doesn't exist..

Here's the base I made using the templates.. I think it looks nice, and I tried my best to make it look close enough to the original one.

So I'm not putting the depth cheeks on mine, besides, I think it turns the helmet easier to make. Thanks for the tips again, it's helping a lot.. The sad part is, where I live they don't sell Sintra (I'm from Brazil), so I think I'll go on and try to make the base of the helmet with the bucket and see how it will turn out. But you can help me out again?? Could you tell me what do I use for making the visor? And the rangefinder of your helmet goes down? Because I want mine to go down, but I can't figure how I do this part..

Yours looks great, i think you are right its just round. A few pics looks like small depth and most just round. I think i was having the same questions. The visor i made with a plastic safety shield (home depot) and then tinted the plastic safety shield with window tint (canadian tire) i think if you asked a auto body or car detail shop for some limo tint scraps they might give you them, or you can order from www.t-visor.com they are relatively cheap. The dented helmet has a range finder template just modify that to your liking, it goes up and down you just need a nut and bolt. You are off to a great start your helmet is looking good.
