Hey Y’all! I’m here with a blade update.

Currently got about 130 finished as of now.
I have around 100 more blades to go, this is a rather complex multi step process so I have a bunch in mid assembly ready to be glued and I have a portion that still need to be scraped and sanded clean.

I apologize for not being able to give super accurate estimates with these but as it is when things are done by hand and this is the largest bulk order I’ve done to date so I had to change up how I approach certain aspects of the project. Bringing in an assistant has been critical but I’ve been unable to secure consistent help most days resulting in some less productive days than others.
That being said I’m happy with the product were churning out slow as it may be. I’m sure you will be too.

Decals are in production now, should have been done last week but they had to order more material to cover my order, I’ll be going in next week to do the die cutting, laminating and the finishing on those and then I’ll have a Video to make going over the blade and what’s required on the user end for assembly.

As soon as the decals are done I’ll be able to ship out whatever qty I have ready and we can finally get these in your hands!

It’s not to difficult but certainly directions will be best to start with

Only one thing's sticking out to me. The raised grey sections on the grip, weren't they meant to be darker? I feel like in that first video especially, they're much brighter than any of the prototypes

It’s not that high contrast in person. The finish is my favorite parts of the hilt as I have one in hand.

Before we started with a main handle/grip that was anodized black then the top of grips polished down to bare aluminum, then they were powder coated in a trans black color

Now we get the contrast with taking the anodized black part and then the recesses get masked then it gets medias blast to to make the textured grey on the top of the grips

I think I’m with you on that one. That was the chief complaint with the Korbanth model I had hoped would be addressed with this one, but looks like another refinishing project, ahh well ‍ Those grips never appeared even remotely bright in live-action, they were always a deep grey/matte black contrasting with gloss.

This one is media blasted on the top of the grip
Could be darkened with aluminum black
The problem we had the the powder coating over was it made the contrast of the main grip and the rest of the hilt too different

Have to agree with others on the handles. Thought we were getting the perfect samples you shared earlier.

As far as the new brighter grips are concerned, are they clear anodized or exposed raw aluminum?

Packaged sample arrived!

The screws on top of the emitter were wrong but it’s likely because the screws had not arrived by the time they shipped this

Also was missing the magnets for the control box. Also likely because they are waiting on them

To note the screw above the box is not the one that we intend.
We have the very pricey screws we got here that we will Include when we are doing the quality inspections.
Other that that everything turned out BETTER than we had hoped for.
I will make sure they are clear on changing the screws and that the magnet sets get included with each kit.
After that is clarified I am giving them the ok to pack all kits and ship !

Well if they're just media blasted with no coat over top then I do agree the right application of aluminium black oxide would give the desired finish.

I don't mind this myself but I doubt everyone else will be comfortable applying aluminium black oxide or paint themselves.

You could show the process and result and/or offer this service? It does look like we're nearly there.

Honestly, the grips are a dealbreaker for me right now. If this was an optional service, I'd be right back on board!

Yeah we may be able to offer it as service.
It’s raw aluminum that’s been media blasted
And aluminum black does not affect anodized aluminum unless you apply it for a long time

The are not anodized the are aluminum that been media blasted
