Absolutely gorgeous jog enaswede!! Do you mind if I ask how you did the flash hider weathering? It is perfect.
you rubbed off most of the blackening and got it that dark still?!Thank you all for the kind words!! :$
I used Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black and covered the entire flash hider to the point of it being all black. Then took some 0000 Steel Wool and rubbed off most of it leaving as much in the grooves as possible. Then sprayed the entire thing with Testors Dull Coat to keep the rest of the black from rubbing off and to dull the aluminum. Lastly, to bring back just a little of the shinny aluminum I lightly rubbed it once more with the 0000 Steel Wool in a few random places. I hope this helps.
I did not use a drop of paint on the entire blaster... I sanded off the base MGC finish and used Birchwood Casey Super Blue to refinish the base and anything that was aluminum I used Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black. Lots of rubbing but I think it looks better than paint.

yea, that is totally sweet! you do commissions?can't wait to get mine so i can start to mess with it.
What is going on with this run? Will the wait be over soon =D ?
It should be, there was ALOT of moving pieces on this run. I believe the last of the items are at the machine shop (the scopes and the Denix;s). Dave has been posting updates and has done an awesome job at putting all of this together.
This is more like 3 projects rolled up into one
I knew this would be a major undertaking but even I underestimated the time it would take to complete this.
The shop is currently working on the scopes. I spoke with them last week and the light sockets were getting the slot cut and the notches milled on the those that required it. They were also working on the scope lens rings. Once they are done they will mill the scope bodies for the lenses, lens rings and light sockets.
When they are done I will drive the mauser to the shop and pick up the scopes.
Once I have the scopes I will start shipping the any kits not waiting for Mausers or resin greeblies.
