Limited Run RUN CLOSED * DL-44 ESB Blaster Machined Parts Set * RUN CLOSED

I got some of the Hoth parts yesterday and man am I impressed. The anodizing is a beautiful matte black, thanks to everyone making this happen!
 
Well, it's sort of a long story. I started out wanting to build a Luke ESB and made the mistake of ordering parts from Evolution Props. I didn't realize how inaccurate the bracket and scope were, then I took a chance and asked Boba to help me if he had any extra parts and he came through for me! So, the bracket, bolts, spacer, and knurled knob are from this run. Unfortunately he offered me a Flash Hider, which I really want, but I can't get the Evo Props one I have on it now off! That damn thang is on there for good and it ain't budging, no matter what!! I know it needs to be back more on the barrel too, but I guess I'm TSOL in that department!?!? The M19 came from dmach at DEC, I don't think Boba had any extra and that's ok because I missed the run and that's my bad. I'm pretty happy with it though for my first try! I'm in a similar situation with Boba, he's a real good dude, helped me out tremendously. I appreciate your reply. I have a flash hider (don't know who made it) that seems to be epoxied on. I would like to get that off but it isn't going anywhere. I have a DEC M19 that I need to paint. I think i will use rub n buff then paint over that. I'm waiting on a package that's being delivered today to use as a reference (see pic). I can't wait to combine this with the parts from this run!

Thank you, I have never used rub n buff. I guess its back to a layer of brass colored paint then the black. You just saved me a lot of work
 
If you think your flash hider is epoxied on you can use a heat gun to remove it.

By heat gun I mean the type use to remove paint, not a blow dryer.


THESE can make the metal very hot so it should be OBVIOUS that you will have to wear gloves.

Just heat it up for at least 15 minutes and then try to twist it off.
 
That's a nice looking Azimuth M19 in that photo, I assume it is the real deal? I suggest that you just paint your DEC M19 black, then just dry brush it with gold to replicate the weathering. It looks really good and give it just the right touch. I still need to dry brush mine as well, good luck!
 
Thanks, yes its real deal I just got it yesterday. Im not going to lie, that is a picture of its good side. The other side isn't too bad, just has some paint worn off. The white lettering is in nice condition so I'm happy. I have so many ESB parts that I almost didn't buy it because it came with other parts but they rarely come up. And I overpaid but these things have been pricey for years so figured I had to jump on it

Thank you for the dry brush tips, I will definately try that. Also thanks to Boba for the heat gun tip, I'm going to try that when I get back from vacation this weekend.
 
ESB Active Project Update – Order Confirmation / Shipping Confirmation / Schedule / Optional Labor Services


I have been receiving several emails asking questions that I have covered in multiple emails and post to the main thread.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE OFFENCE TO THIS. I am working a lot of over time and this time of year I am very busy around the house and yard so my spare time is very limited.


ORDER CONFIRMATION SHIPPING

Prior to shipping your order I will send you a “confirmation email”

In that email I will list all of the items that I am holding for you and the cost and method of shipping.

It is VERY important that you make sure everything you paid for is listed in that email.

I just incurred a $40 expense that was caused by 3 mistakes.

I originally invoice the member for a Hoth Scope Bracket Disk instead of a Hoth Scope Bracket. The member did not catch it on the original invoice which I ask everyone to confirm prior to paying. Then the member missed the same issue on the “shipping confirmation” email. It is an international order so the shipping is a big factor in the loss and Because they did not explain a customs issue with priority mail they incurred a $25 fee that could have been avoided by using First Class.




SHIPPING CONFIRMATION

I receive a lot of emails about address changes.

Your final invoice will be paid via PayPal so as long as your then current PayPal Address is correct you will not need to notify me about address changes. I always ship to the confirmed PayPal address , except in rare situations.




PROJECT SCHEDULE

I have covered this several times but I still get emails about this

The completion schedule is as follow


  • Scope machining – This has been delayed because the metal the scopes were cast from is very “sticky” which makes it hard to machine. The original fixture concept was scrapped because they do not thing it was strong enough to hold the scope during the machining process. They are going to create a new fixture next week and they should be ready to machine the “feet” next weekend. Then they have to machine the front and back of the scope for the leses and lens rings. They also have to machine the lens rings and light sockets. So this process may take 3-4 weeks


  • Denix Mauser Machining – Once the scopes are done they will machine the mausers and this process normally takes 2-4 weeks to complete


  • Resin Parts – During the Mauser machining process I am going to ask everyone to let me know which resin parts they want. I will not ask you to pay for the resin parts until I invoice you for the shipping and optional labor services which will be when I am ready to ship your kit.





OPTIONAL LABOR SERVICES

Every project I do I create a menu of inexpensive optional labor services which will run the gamut from removing the front sight to full builds. THESE ARE OPTIONAL. I do them work in the order that get the most kits out the fastest so if you want a full build you will be in the last group shipped. I do this so I can dedicate my full attention to the more complicated builds. I hope this makes sense to everyone that wants full builds.

You could try putting it in the freezer for a couple hours and then giving it a good pull. I've used this method for removing epoxied on t-tracks from lightsabers, it works really well. The cold makes epoxy brittle.
 
Thank for the update. And thank you for doing this, it's a huge, time consuming job. I sold 8 of the same item and getting things straight like addresses, who got what, who paid, screen names etc I finally realized how much work a project run is.
 
Check this out, I just came across this image and it appears that Luke used the same DL-44 as Han on Hoth. It has what appears to be the same flash hider and cylinders on the side.
