That's not what I'm meaning. The bevel angle looks different from where it attaches to the barrel to the cone.
Maybe I'm crazy and it's the viewing angle that is throwing me off.

With the exception of the "raw" brackets the rest are going to the anodize shop tomorrow. I should have them by the middle of next week.
I think your concern over the flash hider is due to a phenomena I call “photographic hysteria”
This happens occasionally when ever I post images of raw parts. This flash hider is very shiny and the photo angles do not line with with known images, so the part may not look like you expected, in most cases these concerns evaporate once you receive the parts.
In the case of this part we don’t have a lot to go one so you really have to grant a person like me so latitude because I am trying to recreate a real part for this type of image
I do my best to create something that most of the group likes but it is impossible to make everyone happy so I offer variations (something most project leads do not do) so each person can create a kit that works for them
Having said that we discussed these parts for a long time and in the case of this part everyone seemed pretty happy with the final result
The above image is a jpeg outline of the print I submitted to make these flash hiders
At one point I posted this picture of the bead blasted flash hider and the responses were positive except for one person
And I also posted this picture and received a lot of positive feed back
But if you truly think the part does not look right it and if you don’t think you will be happy with your parts, I will be glad to offer your kit to the 20+ people I have on my back up list.
I don't mean this in a threatening way, I am jut letting you know that if you're not happy with the kit you don't have to get stuck with it.
PS – Here is a picture of the parts for our 2004 project and the Hoth Flasher Hider is pretty much identical to this one and I everyone as pleased with it back then. This picture is posted in this thread

Thanks for the explanation. I agree that bead blasted flash hider looks much more correct than the raw metal one that I was questioning. You might be able to reduce the illusion by shooting the parts against a colored background, just a theory.

I'd be happy to let my kit go to someone on the wait list. It's not that I'm not happy with the progress - to my uninitiated eye, this is as good as it gets! I was picking it up to complete my Anovos belt rig/holster, but the wait for that product became too long for my tastes and I cancelled the order a couple months ago. I'm still perfectly glad to move forward, but if someone on the wait list is looking for a kit with my specs (Han/Bespin) it'd be fine to allow the slot to move to that buyer.
Again, it's not a reflection on the kit - you're doing incredible work here! Let me know if you'd like to reassign my slot. Thanks BD!

That's why I offer the accurzation process for the Denix. IMO it loos really good once it's done. I lie them so much I replaced my MGC with accurized Denixes
I built that blaster ad a test for the Bracket placement. I just added the flash hider or perspective. I'm working a ton of OT and don't have a lot of free time otherwise I would have bead blasted and weathered the Flash Hider.

I second the accurized Denix, they really are a massive improvement over the original casting.

-remove the bolt nub -$1
-remove the front sight - $3
is this the service for fitting the glass lenses into the scope? i dont see anywhere about the brass rings for the glass lenses? does that fall under "hardware kit"? i dont follow with "remove the bolt nub" can you explain what that is? I dont see any option for light socket machining that doesn't bother me because i want a full ring to match Hans but i just want to double check to make sure the light socket will still be a complete circle
when you have a minute can you double check for me, i want to make sure i went with the accuraztion option, I'm pretty sure i did but I'm double guessing now being so long ago.

No, I don't invoice for the services until I am ready to ship the kits and we still have to get the scopes and mausers machined.
All of these services will be explained in this thread when the time is appropriate but I will quickly address your questions
"Reverse the rear sight" is a process that reverses the rear sight of the Denix mauser. They have always been backwards.
The Bolt nub is also a Denix process, it sticks out a lot and I can grind it down flush like a real mauser.
The ESB Blaster flash hiders feature a barrel through design so you have to remove the front sight on the barrel to install the flash hider
You purchased a Scope and already paid for the scope lens rings and the full ring light socket. I ill install the lenses, rings, light socket and bolts to make shipping it easier. You will be able to disassemble the scope for finishing.
BTW - The list I sent out as not all inclusive. I will build a couple blasters to figure out the tutorial and assembly process and from that experience I generate the menu of optional labor services that I ill be able to provide.

Will there still be an option to have the Hoth Flash Hider bead blasted?
i think you mentioned back when it was discussed that this may still be an option on individual orders
i think the bead blasted version looks 100% better & more accurate
loving the the progress on these kits
