I just created a shipping notification email template and hen I went to the USPS web site to determine the costs for Priority Shipping with insurance I was not happy.


Here is the cost of insurance based on value

• $100 – $200 = $2.75
  
• $201 – $300 = $4.80
  
• $301 – $400 = $5.80
  
• $400 – $500 = $7.00
  
• $501 – $600 = $9.45

IMO this is ridiculous but it is necessary to protect each of us from lost or damage shipments.

If anyone has any ideas to help us save some money please post them to the thread.

As someone who has dealt with mail fraud and stolen eBay packages, I will gladly pay for insured shipping and signature upon delivery.

Sometimes with higher value Insurance, signatures are required. I don't know what that threshold is though. I have no problem with the Insurance prices, in fact I prefer something of this cost to be Insured just in case something happens.
