just reponded to the e-mail request. ordered the ROTJ mauser with complete set of aniodized parts. Could you clarify what the DELRIN option is for the flash hider and pistons. Thanks.

Some people want those parts made from Delrin because there is a picture posted to this thread that shows various original parts on a table and some of them look like they were made from Delrin

Delrin is a high impact plastic used in buckets, gears, k'nex, and other things. Derlin is the Dupont trademark name, generically it's polyoxymethylene. It's a bit slippery for hobby use like polyethylene you cannot paint it or glue it, adhesion promoters won't work on it like you can with polypropylene either, paint just comes off with tape or finger, needs to be dyed or molded in color, and attached with mechanical fasteners.

Hi Boba: Many thanks for the email (and many apologies for not responding sooner!). I think I'm going to have to sit this run out, however. I was trying to make it work, but I just can't swing it financially at the moment. I'll hold out for the next ANH run, hopefully!

On the denix, will the machined out parts be anodized so the whole thing is black, or will they be bare aluminum when we get them?
Are we sending in payments now or still waiting for 6 more orders?

No we do not need to wait, I'm sure 6 more people will sign up by the time I'm ready to send the shop payment for the parts.

I'm going to start the invoicing process tomorrow and might get them all sent out.






The Denix Mausers will be bare metal where they are machined.

You can not anodize the metal the Denix Mausers are made from

I offer an optional process where I wet sand the mauser with alcohol and then apply aluminum black to the entire gun.

It's not a perfect finish but it is a good base for a good weathering job.

Normally I charge $20 for this optional service and I don't charge for it until your parts are ready to ship

If you are on the fence about this you may want to consider the following


After this run the it will be very expensive to do this kit.

The scope rings are no longer manufactured, we were very lucky that Bill found 25 sets for this project and I ordered the remaining 14 sets they had in stock

The ring accounts for $4 of the scope cost because it was an off the shelf item.

If anyone does a future run, the ring will have to be replicated which I was researching.

For a quantity of 100 it was going to cost about $78 for the 4 parts needed to make one ring and I hadn't researched the cost of the hardware yet.



IF I wanted a ROTJ Blaster I would at least get a set of these machined parts because I don't foresee doing them again.

The Mauser is great but I can add a ROTJ Mauser to any Denix Mauser Run I do in the future.
