Rubies Supreme Boba Fett

Well from the looks of their current range they appear to have most of the CA masters apart from the TIE (wonder where that one went?);)
So they've probably had the CA Fett for a few years but have either been unwilling to put it out or have been restricted by LFL because of the MR.

It looks a little cartoony or something. Maybe it's no wrinkles in the suit, or the green paint look a little clean and bright.

I dunno. Not my cup o tea, but someone will like it. Way too expensive for what it is though(unless it comes with MR helmet).

I'd be very curious to see pics of the jetpack. It's almost as if they went out of their way NOT to show it.

I think it's decent but yes they ARE asking too much for it. The pack will most likely be that inflatable one. This DOES have potential to be a really good costume. NO not to OUR standards here but is decent. Now if they can keep the costume looking like this when you buy it rather than do the bait and switch like they've been known to do I'd be happy. MUCH cheaper than the $6,000 folks throw in to make theirs SA. Bit of wheathering, new paintjob, better helmet boots and pack and you're on your way.
Perfect to bring to a kids party and not have to worry about getting your (insert armor builder here) pack broken by some kid.

:thumbsdown Unforgivable.

I am not even being super picky here guys but it looks really bad and it doesnt have to for that price.

A decent Fett helmet can be as low as $100. A full set of FP Version 3 armor is $250. FP gaunts are $250. A Batninja armor vest is about $80. The most inaccurate fanmade jumpsuit looks like gold compared to that one and they run about $150. That one isnt even close to the right color! A cheap vinyl ammo belt is about $75 and a JP kit could be as low as $250.

So for just a few hundred more bucks and well below the $2,000 mark some people say they would be willing to pay, you blow this crappy thing out of the water and can have a costume/display you can really be proud of. And if you are worried about doing your own paintjob, I promise you will do better than the factory job this thing will have.

A mass produced item like this can be really cheap. All the fan-made prices listed above could be cut in half or more if an actual company was doing it. It just kills me everytime I see a chance wasted when they could just as easily made it so much better. You give me a set of real Boba Fett armor and gauntlets and I can cast them and sell them for $200 a full armor set and still make money. Vacuforming is cheap.

Fett is a costume you just cant fake. Its very detailed and dirty but not in a way that couldnt be done by a company with ease.

Trust me, I am just as big a stormtrooper fan as I am Fett and the Rubies stormtrooper supreme wasnt nearly as offensive to the eyes as this one.

And yes I know its a Halloween costume. But you cant charge $900 bucks for a Halloween costume. The most I've ever spent on one was $300 for my Joker costume and that one was top notch for that kind of cash.
If this Fett costume was about that much I'd say it would be a great deal!

But to have them try to make it out to be any better than the Deluxe Boba Fett costume they are selling for $75 bucks is stupid. That one looks just fine for what it is

I think you mean new paint job, new helmet, modify the armor, get a new jetpack, get a new flightsuit, get a new vest, boots, girthbelt, get a new cape, switch out some parts for metal ones, new spats, get better shin tools, and resell pretty much the entire costume for $3 and then maybe spend a few hundred more and then you'll be on your way.

I think its a real good deal... $900.00 for nothing you could possibly use for a good costume. :)

I think people here are being too critical on this. Its a commercial "costume" made for fun, not trooping nor to be filmed. Not claiming to be a screen accurate prop. While I agree the price is high, its a good attempt on Rubies part for the average person(who dont stare at every paint scraped chip off of the right hand gauntlet from the actual prop to notice the difference).

Ive seen a 501st Darth Vader who stands 5'8" at 250lbs who was having a blast in character. :confused
His costume probably ranged about $2000-$3000.

Who's going to tell him his appearence is wrong and inaccurate and should consider another character(option) because it doesnt look right in someone elses opinion?

"Fun" has no price.

Maybe we should bash all of the Luke Skywalkers and Han Solos because they look nothing like Mark or Harrison?

The point is that someone could do a lot better with that money.

And we're not judging someone for buying it. We're judging Rubies for making it.

I thought we were talking about the costume... not the person's features... and for 2-3k I'm sure he's got a pretty accurate costume... that is probably not a Rubies... :):thumbsup

The body is the frame to the costume. But......if a person is having fun thats all that matters.

Back on track. For half off retail price, this could be a great start. Its amazing what a good repaint can do. Some weathering of the soft parts, a mystery helmet and it would pass fine.

Agreed.
You can buy a full set of FP armor, guants, and helmet for $750.00... and you could probably scratch build the rest to look a whole lot better than the Rubies... all you need is a little help from thedentedhelmet :):thumbsup

According to that Website, it list the DV Supreme @ $794, where on ebay and some other sites, they sell for $497.00. We'll probably see the costume for around $650 or less in a couple months when the secondary market realizes they cant sell it and push the price down to cost.

Unfortunately, its the general public who wouldnt know where to get a more accurate costume who theyre trying to sell this to.

BTW...I thought we were talking about having fun with any costume regardless of price?
