Rubies Stormtrooper Blaster (catalog #30557)

I'm actually excited about this as I can get a a super cheap, super light weight look a like to add to my collection. I can mod it to be a bit more accurate, and as much as I would love to own a super screen accurate E-11 prop, I don't want to spend a ton of money. I've already invested in many projects, so if I can add this to my collection without breaking the bank, I'll be happy. Plus it would be a really fun, quick build to add an LED and to paint/ mod into a halfway decent looking piece.

Honestly, I don't think that represents the final product. It looks like an early 3D computer render (to establish the basic geometry) with orange hastily photoshopped over it. Look at the rear sight. Something about that just looks wrong to me.

This will not be a 100% replica of a Stormtrooper blaster, so not sure why some people expect it to be even when finished.

I'm thinking we will see this hit stores before it comes in stock online.

if I was a betting man, I would bet against it for the reasons I stated earlier, if you look at items like the gaffi stick, Ashoka, and Plo Koon lightsaber and many other Rubies Star Wars items have been out for years and I have never seen them in person, only online.

The other thing is if these items are expected available in October, then I don't expect to see them in stores for Halloween because I don't tend to see stores restocking holiday items that close to the actual holiday.

if I were going to add this to my collection, I would view it as an earlier or even the original version of the E-11 that existed 5 years prior the ones seen in A New Hope.

Hasbro needs the doopys kit to make it barely believable.

The original Kenner Stormtrooper blaster with the folding stock was awesome. Sure, it still lacks a lot of the detail but that one piece was huge difference.

I thought they finally came to their senses when I initially saw the new blaster at Toy Fair but the blaster is under sized, and the stock only goes halfway up the barrel when folded just to package it to fit in an really small box. Worst yet... It does not look much like the blaster, not even the animated version.

if they can make these large and detailed Nerf guns, why can't they put the same effort into the Star Wars blasters. Sorry to go off topic... Hasbro has me worked up these days.

The reason for the smaller size or wrong details is so they don't compete with whomever has the replica license.
At least that is the reason I heard.

That could be it. I guess Anovos and eFX might make E-11 in the future, even if not made of metal like the old MR version, but of resin, rubber and/or plastic.

I believe that to a certain degree. But in this case, I find it hard to believe it is why the new Hasbro blaster is so off.

So it's in stock finally. I just ordered one via the link (thank you btw!). There is also a 25% off coupon, so for less than 15 dollars shipped, I figured it's not much of a gamble. It will make for a quick, fun project and if it's a piece of garbage then 15 dollars lost is not much of a risk. I'll post pictures wjhen it arrives.

I want one,
as long as it's not tiny it will be very convincing with a decent paint job, and at that money it's a no brainier. Fun.

Please show us some pics of it in hand

I'm definitely excited to see what these look like in person! I'm holding off until I see some pics and what someone thinks of the general quality and size, but if it's not to flimsy or ridiculously small in the hands of a 6'3" guy, I'll probably pick one up for my eventual Agent Kallus build.

I expect this to be like their Clone Trooper blaster. It was larger than a Hasbro toy but it felt a very light and not as durable. Not that I am trying to discourage people just trying to give realistic expectations.
