RS Propmasters X-Wing Helmets

Question for you guys. When you wear the helmets, does the mic sit too high and too close to your face? I know these are meant for display but it's nice to be able to wear them. I'm curious if I'm the only one.

These helmets are indeed very nice looking.

I don't have a problem with the mic personally. Two other issues though. The visor can be very painful on the nose. They probably had this issue in the movie since in ESB onwards Luke's visor has a nose piece on it, and these things aren't supplied. The other issue I have is I have to take out the ear pads to get a comfortable fit. I'm not even a big guy, and I have to wear it Red Six style.

Yes the mic is terribly bad, it’s too high, if it was angled out more or flexible it would be much better. It’s unwearable as it is and pushes up under my nose

Yeah I don't know if the originals were flexible but they definitely need to be angled out more, again if they're to be worn. If they're only being displayed it's fine and maybe even preferable to have them positioned this way (although personally I'd still like them lower even for display).

I'm considering maybe breaking the mic off and repositioning it but I'm hesitant to do so as the ones I have are the limited signature editions.

If I recall they weren't attached at all but were separate headsets. Racalite or something? I think the same as what they wore in the Falcon's gun turrets. This would probably be the only 'inaccuracy' of the construction of an RS, in that they attach the mic to the inside of the helmet. And in Empire they wore the mics on the right side instead (and probably a different headset)

To remove or change position of the mic in an RS you'd need to pierce part of the inner helmet lining.

Ha! Stacked in a pile, almost. My collection display space has been far outstripped by my collection arrival and workspace space and I am in desperate need of reworking everything to keep up. So, it's all in flux at the moment actually...

I think these might be Special Orders. Might be wrong, but I believe RS can do that.

Yes, RS does make special orders. Does anyone have a list of the special order x-wing helmets?

I believe they will be making a Gold Leader helmet soon.

I recently ordered a Colin Michael Kitchens Sandtrooper helmet. The plaque says Artist Proof instead of a number. Do they normally have some of those in addition to the numbered helmets?

Generally we do a few extra artist proofs manly for ourselves of for charty helmets

These are commissions not on a run infact most Xwings we do are on a commission basis if theres a particular helmet you want we'll paint it!
