RS Propmasters X-Wing Helmets

How would I go about ordering a non signature edition? Do you offer them, all the time, or will it be a future date when you make a batch?
Send an email to info@rspropmasters.com with what you want to order. They will let you know what it will cost and give you some idea how long it will take. The cost of the commissions vary. It may take months before it will be made depending on what their production schedule is.

The below images compare the screen used and RS Propmasters X-Wing pilot visors. The screen used is much more yellow and is more curved. I'm surprised the differences are so significant considering the amount of research they put into their products.

Many thanks for this advice, I have dropped them Andrea a note - see what happens. Hope there is another batch.

the visor is curved as it should be, the biggs picture you have of our helmet the visor is too far inside the helmet.

we trim more out the bottom of the visor becuse people were saying they were struggling with the visor sometimes its a trade off between wearability and accuracy. the visor shape however is correct as i was abe to take measurements from an original helmet.

none signature editions you can order ant time, as for the visors i will make a note of that before the next batch are done
I received a response from Andrea saying they can't take any further orders on Y-Wing, as she is not sure they will make any more after this initial run. Maybe they are just too time consuming to make and weather etc..?not sure - I asked if anyone dropped out of the 100 initial run, I would love a spot on the list. you never know - fingers crossed. Never say never. Just kicking myself I didn't get in the initial batch.

that comment from RS was related to the X-wing lids.

I can see that the extra trimming of the bottom portion would give it a different look.

Is the color accurate? The yellow is much more noticeable in the films.

Would it be possible to offer the screen accurate trim in addition to the more wearable trim? Some of us just display them. Possibly include both or have that as an option like how some products can be ordered clean or weathered.

When the Y Wing helmets were announced, they emphasized that it would be a one time run only.

Yes the Y wing is a one time only run for that design. We may do another design at a much later date but that hasn’t been decided as yet, we need to get this first hundred out first before we do any more.

as for the visor we are looking into that, I will speak to the guys and show them these pictures and leave material on. If people have a preference we will always try to accommodate. The visor again we have to tint our selves so it’s not an exact science and it’s not easy to tell until fully dry.

Not posted up here in a while so I thought I'd showcase my collection of RS X wing helmets (ok, one's a Y wing helmet). I'm pleased beyond words with them - the attention to detail and care in making them (some were commissioned - others 'Signature Editions'), as well as great customer service from the guys there at RS.

Appologies for it being a lill 'image heavy'....

I received the Porkins helmet I ordered from RS Props. I asked them to trim the visor like screen accurate. Below are photos with a comparison to my Biggs RS Props helmet.

I like the screen accurate trim on the visor much better.
Call me silly but I don’t see what you mean by trim on visor can you please explain

The trim on the bottom of the yellow visor. The Porkins has much more of a curve which matches the screen used look better. The visor on the Biggs is trimmed more making the bottom straighter. They said they normally trim them more for comfort.

As I am really interested in doing an Porkins helmet myself I found this pictures. Here it seems the detailing color looks more like green. RS seems to paint it more dark blackish grey. So what is the exact color, has somebody more pics or knows which is correct?

Tricky. On your second pic all the helmets seem to have a greenish tinge along that same angle. When the part you're talking talking about curves around underneath it appears to be dark blackish grey.

Could be another case like Han's snow parka which looked blue but was actually dark brown. How much have the colours been affected by the lights in your pictures? Or should we be asking how much the colours have been affected by the various filters applied to the movie over the years?
