Randy Cooper in his video made that observation. Okay, AMT is sharp (and that's more apparent when the model is primed) but is Revell sharper? So far, I've only see people giving Revell the slight edge in that category.

But how many do you really need? I would use the other engine for another type of speeder or as a kitbashing item.

The podracer can make for a really nice build-up. In mine, I replaced the undersized Anakin with a larger scratchbuilt one and replaced the kit's styrene cable connectors with thin threaded metal rod I got from my LHS's RC section. The energy binders were also wire that allowed me to "float" one engine and the pod instead of using the kit's three-point base. The square black metal support rod blends into the black base. I made it at least 14 years ago and it's still holding up. The only thing I'd do differently now is weave in a lit filiment for the energy binder and yellow engine lights.

Fiber optic side glow filament may also work to simulate the plasma effect, but it really wouldn't be striking unless dimly lit. Still, it is better than nothing.

I am not sure exactly what this stuff is here, if it is side glow fiber or whatever, but these purge masks have great glow effect

If they hook up to a battery, they are electroluminescent (EL) wire. If they have a light bulb or LED whose light they transmit, they're fiberoptic.

While I am not a big fan of the design and have not watched the Bad Batch, I am happy to see them take a risk on something not as popular with a newly tooled Star Wars kit and hope it does really well for them
Who knows, I would probably pick it up for the "must have them all" mentality and change my mind once seeing the design in person
