It seems these have a real following in their own right, I guess it depends on how old each piece is.
Yeah - I was bidding on a red one. Looked just like the green one. I thought I had it nailed at about $165, but I am pretty sure I got sniped.
I don't really understanding the sniping software game with eBay.
But I had placed a bid of about $125, and scored the highest bid about 30 minutes prior to the end of the auction. With no other bids coming in, I slowly increased my max to $140, then $150, then $165.
In the last 30 seconds I was going to bump my bid up a few more dollars, but the auction ended with another bidder winning at $166.
It looks like we don't have to hack it appart to make it accurate though which is good! I guess these things will always keep their value.
My intent was to mold the glass portion, and cast it (perhaps in a tinted clear resin), and use the original caps. If the cast of the threads is good enough, teh caps should thread on to a resin cast.
With a resin cast, I could mess with it - cut a slot in the side for the slide switch that Dumbledore uses.
