Hi everyone!
Been a long while since my last posting (but always lurking around).
So a while back I had some replicas of items from Resident Evil (games, not films) made, and for the Wolf and Eagle Medals, I wanted to create the books that they are housed in partially for storage, but also for display (plus I think it funny that I can put them on the bookshelf in my classroom and there will be multiple students who have no idea ;P ).
I bought some simple false books off Amazon to use as the base and got some foam inserted to house the replicas.
The issue that I'm having is with the cover. I have files of the cover textures from the game, and tried to print them out to create a sort of vinyl wrap to attach to the false book. Didn't work out too well.
First, the adhesive didn't want to stick as well as I had hoped, but also something with the paper type and printer type didn't get along and there would be streaks where the ink wouldn't stick.
I'm considering perhaps painting the black fabric of the color that the book needs to be (one a dark red, the other a navy blue). From there, maybe taking the texture images from the game and making stencils or something similar with a Cricut to then affix to the cover?
I'm open to any suggestions any of you may have that can help me out with this.
