Roman Props Thermal Detonator

Does anyone here know if the thermal detonators used in the latest episode of Mandalorian were from Roman?
With the production using props from well known builders (Gordon Tarpley, & Zorg, among others), I was just curious.

Good question, I would love to know the answer!

Basically just this one and KR x OR replicas.

I wondered that myself as soon as I saw them.

Did you see Roman’s post on facebook? I can’t tell if he confirmed it or if he was making a joke. Haha

here’s some screen grabs from the episode:

I went ahead and ordered a clean one today. I emailed Roman and it seems as though those were the ones they purchased and they would do their own weathering for the show. I hope they have a visual guide published at some point and I can match the exact look of the weathering from there. You got to love being able to get a prop direct from the og maker.

Judging by the screen shot, it looks like they hit the raw chrome with a matte clear coat and did a very light black and brown wash over it. You can see an area where the clear coat scraped off, and you can see the brownish tint.

I bought the weathered version, but the weathering was starting to come off with handling, so I rubbed all of it off and it left a similar brownish color.

This is the best image I could get. For now we can use this to get a close proximation of the weathering on the top.

That's awesome! Suddenly my MR version isn't as cool without any RPF streetcred! :D I obviously haven't paid any attention for a year because I had no idea he was making these!
