It's wild to me that we're less than 6 months from a significant SW release...to date have had only a single teaser trailer...they have a new trailer, with a peek at Vader, no less...but they're very possibly not releasing it. Why? What would it hurt? Saving it for SDCC? Fear of oversaturation? I think that'd hardly be the case. I also never understood why they never officially released that "proto-teaser" from last year. It's just a matter of uploading to Youtube and it'd take care of itself. Weird.
now that is a wicked teaser trailer! lol, blurry, half way through the trailer we are looking at ceiling tiles lol and what the heck is that at the end?! is that vader standing and his reflection on a red glass floor?
I'd guess they need to keep something back for SD comic con next weekend,so if they are doing it similarly to last years TFA release, we will get the second teaser trailer from SWC released to everybody then, then a major trailer in the autumn (depending on whether or not Disney wants to boost their channel ratings again). As it is we got exactly the same BTS sizzler for TFA this time last year, followed quickly by the short trailer.
Given the success of last years timing and the merchandise marketing build to Xmas I don't think we will see much of a change in the pattern in which this or any future SW film is promoted. Clear the rest of the summer blockbusters out of the way (Star Trek Beyond and Suicide Squad seem likely to be the key media focus shortly) and then dominate the build up in interest again from early autumn.
Everytime I look at the details and design in this film the more thrilled I am by how well they have captured the feel of the OT, and openned up the SW universe. Love the new planets added and their look , and the beach and jungle scenes looks gritty and dangerous ( I half expected to see the Predator leap out from behind a palm tree and knife a stormtrooper though!!!!).
All the new costumes look dead on for the period and wonderfully weathered, and its great to see that alot of the old classic ships are returning to the SWU, that hinted at Walker and Xwing battle with the rebels cornered on the beach promises much. Really makes me think the other much mooted standalones have the same great potential for us by tonally echoing films of the past.
I note they said nothing at all about the reshooting that the doom mongers have been bleating about , but they said the movie looks quite different and immersive to the usual SW film, and probablymore like Saving Private Ryan I suppose .

My wild guess is it might be Vader looking out of a window at Mustafar with the lava reflecting on the shiny floor? Didn't Rebels establish that's basically his home (where Jedi go to die and all that)? Perhaps a canon replacement for Vjun and Bast Castle?

Nice interview on the BBC, again, a lot of emphasis on the way the film will "look" different on screen, lots of hand held camera shots. I could listen to Felicity all day, beautiful voice! Rewatching that sizzler trailer (with the ABC new footage) I'm wondering where the storm scene with her comes in, they did say Scarif was a planet of extremes . Will it be a "tears in the rain" moment?? And who is she fighting? I've a strong suspicion this is going to be an emotionally brutal SW film.

well i got to watch the 30 minute chopped up version of the Rogue One Panel. all i can say is, if you dont want to be spoiled about a HUGE story reveal DO NOT WATCH the Rogue One panel videos. Jiang Wen's limited ability to speak and understand english leaves him a little confused and revealed a SHOCKING moment in the film. I highly advise anyone avoiding spoilers DO NOT WATCH
