Hows come, out of curiosity? Just trying to get a feel for what everyone is experiencing with this build.

no this is different. This is for the piece to cover the gap between the cod piece and the thighs. I'm going to take out more details out of the lowdef Mk 3 thighs and use that.

I was just looking at this pic. Anyone noticed what's terribly wrong with it?

Yup, Mark III legs. The reason being is that most of what was filmed with RDJ in the suit in Iron Man 2 was filed with just a waist up suit and the legs are CGI. I think this was an early mock up promo shot using what they had on hand!

Ah, ok for the sliding plates that go under the upper thigh.

i dont think thats it at all - it looks like cheap thin p[lastic is used for the thighs because theres a HUGE crease in the one

also (getting off topic here for a bit) im working on some Transformers Gen 1 peps. If any one is interested i have made Megatrons's helm - sorry for the brief hijack Robo

well, you could always scale it to the dimension of the best fit without too much room, then after glassing, cutting and extending the parts that are too small.

to darth veach

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - spine uploaded....suit complete...finally

also that it looks like he's standing on top of a box so that he appears taller than Pepper.. his proportions do not match up. look how much higher his hands are than hers would be if she extended them down

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - spine uploaded....suit complete...finally

I don't want this to get too far offtopic, but trust me guys, those are CGI legs. Watch behind the scenes on the making of IM2 or read some of the excerpts from The Art Of Iron Man 2 and it will tell you the bottom half of a suit was not build. His legs are all CGI. I have this same photo with the correct legs. Check out allmoviephotos.com

What he said...at least for most scenes. And the "crease" that can be seen looks to me like a rendering error, similar in effect to how in some video games you can walk up to a wall and rotate the camera "into" the wall so you can view yourself partly in it. It's not "supposed" to look like that, but the way the rendering engine or ray tracer roughed it out (And I'm sure it was probably a really quick render) or the way the faces or surfaces intersected created a slight distortion. In quick renders, stuff like that, especially on shiny surfaces, is very common.

And to anyone complaining that Robo hasn't made thigh extensions: Who cares?! He gave us an ENTIRE IRON MAN SUIT...FOR FREE. Thigh extensions weren't even something that anyone considered until DancingFool released them, and while they are a fine piece to add to a costume, they just make it more cumbersome and difficult to move in. If you really want them, use a little creativity, they're not complex pieces, try freehanding them. A little creativity goes a long way to making the project your own.

...and to be completely honest, I don't know why anyone could complain about it, I haven't seen many people around here far enough along in their build progress to even worry about something as small as thigh extensions. Build the rest of it, and if you still want them, the experience you gained in building the rest of the suit will make it that much easier for you to do it for yourself.

I only wish I wasn't so broke right now so I could donate to you, Robo to let you know how much I truly appreciate all of the hard work you've put into this. Fantastic work, fantastic tenacity, and just a fantastic project to share with all of us. Thanks!

Quoted for truth!! I couldn't be happier that an entire suit is available in this capacity. Sure it is a challenge here and there, but what Pep project isnt? The spirit of this board is supposed to be one of coming together in a common interest, helping each other sharing ideas, etc. Robo is a true testament to that.

Hookeeman! Looks fantastic so far. Do you mind sharing your stats (height and weight) and how you are scaling to help give us another idea of how this build is coming together for people?

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - spine uploaded....suit complete...finally

and now my brain hurts lol.

lets start with this one - do you mean to say mesure a box around each section of your body? cuz when i rescaled a few parts they came out ginourmus

and now about thigh additions. Dancin'_Fool's parts should be a suitable substitute in thereas they LOOK like they can fit

Well i mean that you have to measure in straight line your body because if not you will be measuring the surface of your body so measure straight, and you can measure for example the abs, watch for the scale that is the best for you and the open the other parts like chest for an example and put that scale into it and watch the dimensions and see if it fits right, or you can do what i did, assemble in pep designer an entire torso from brace or neck to cod, then measure your body from your crotch (where the cod lowest part should be placed) to your shoulder os neck(if you include neck seal) and then put your measure in the scale box an get that scale, the you can take that scale and use it on the parts separately and check if the dimensions of the pieces using that scale is right for you, you can also assemble the entire suit from neck seal to foot and check if with that scale previously obtained gives your height
as the height measure of the program, if so that is your scale to use.

Also any question have no doubt to ask, i`ll be checking this out soon.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - spine uploaded....suit complete...finally

y'know how i'm doing that clone paratrooper helmet? and when i hinted at it someone asked about republic commando armour?...well....

who'd be interested in some imperial commando gear?

i think the armour itself is much the same as the RC armour...but the helmet is obviously different, so I'll do an RC helmet as well

Re: robo3687's Pep Files - Iron Man, Star Wars and more...oh my!
