robo3687's Iron Man Pep Files - SD War Machine links page 73

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

i hope there are no objections to my posting this file, but i just finished the models for the minigun and mount. they are not exactly accurate, but they should suffice. i unfolded and scaled the mount, but not the minigun, so if you do an unfold you want to set the width to 120-125 anything larger/smaller it wont fit. i might be wrong on that mesurement but i dont think so.

in theory you can turn the solid cylindars on the mount into joints and the faux actuator into a real one.

so here is the link - enjoy! i goto bed now...

minigun.zip - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download

i should note that the canister you see on one side is mirrored to the other,

Seems like this would be extremely difficult to pep. If anyone were to build this I think styrene would be an easier way to go, at least for the mount. The actual barrels would probably be done easiest with 1/2" pvc

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

in the readme i suggest using wooden dowels for the barrels other than that there shouldnt be too much trouble peping there are less detailed than (for example) one of robo's files.

you do your parts like any other pep, resin the outside and then go from there - least i hope so - once i can im going to do a test pep on these unless some one else gets to them before i do

if that does happen, please post pics

also in there with strange pep files - Pep Arc reactor in War Machine files over on the 405th site made by JUICE

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

Why are the pep files of left thigh and shin are same with the right one?(the arms have the same problem?)

What should I do to flip them?

They're not the same, you don't need to do anything.

The first post, on the first page where Robo's files are even explains it.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

wow... how many times has that question been answered now... not including the mention of it in the first post....

You don't have to do any flipping, if you look at the pep file, on the right hand side of the screen is the 2 dimensional layout of the thigh or shin and you'll notice that they are in different angles respectively.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

man that minigun pep is pretty good for an independent design, but it is totally unlike the movie version.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

i kinda thought so... if i were the prop designer for the weapons on War Machine thats how I'd want it to look.

EDIT:

heres how it all looks together

you probably can get away with not peping that small cube that sticks out because you could just use that large cube at the base to mount it to your back peice

so far i've made progress with the helm, arms, chest, back, brace and shoulder plates together with the shoulders. I'm having little trouble with the legs, btw can anyone here provide me with the leg templates? there's a cosplay competition here in our small town and i wanna be in it just for fun. I've been using robo's pep files and pepping takes time. i only have 4-5days to make the torso and the leg parts so could anyone provide me with some templates of it and ill make it using sintra. :D

oh btw great work robo. all im waiting for now is the spine part.. can't wait for it. :sleep

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

i have to start by saying i have loved Iron Man since i was like 12, im 35 now, and i am happy as hell that a movie was made that was big enough to spark people to create Pep files so everyone can make their own suits. i have wanted my own Iron Man suit since i was 15! also, how come no one has taken any creative liberities with their suit building?

Tony Stark has a suit for every occasion, why shouldn't we? ... it would be cool if people made some Pep files for suit addons like missile pods, arm guns, etc.

for those of you who are trying to create a Jarvis type unit in a suit, i recommend this pc here. as a pc tech (me) i could tell you it would have all the needed components to simulate Jarvis and the USB ports to have your addon attached to. hell, its probably what im going to use to power my War Machine suit. im going to have it power servos for the minigun and open missile compartments im adding to the suit.

there is enough open area in the back and front of the suit to add it, and as for the power source, ill probably going with one of those small rechargeable battery packs that can power a laptop or something for a few minutes.

i have no idea if it will work, but its something to think about and a platform to start with. also, i have seen even smaller pcs, ones that are like 4x4x1 that are meant to be mounted into a wall of a house or office. those might be worth looking into.

i know it sounds a bit over the top, but building an Iron Man or War Machine suit has been done a thousand times, but building one that is somewhat functional, albeit very primitive, is something pretty new, heh.

oh oh, and add a wireless card to it to allow your suit to connect to the internet and use your voice recognition software to do searches and have it speak the results to you. basically use all the built in functions for Windows that are meant for disabled people.

ok now i am rambling and giving away to many ideas, but man, now it has me thinking about the posibilities. the only problem would be an actual HUD. if you could integrate those glasses that are meant to be pc monitors into a helmet that would rock!

when making your suits, just think WWTSD (What Would Tony Stark Do), lol.

im going to shut up now...

P.S. hi everyone, im new to posting on the forum but have been reading it for a while now. :lol

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

yea, ive had plans for faux repulsors using co2 and yellow led flashes. maybe airsoft guns for warmachine.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

30% completed my suit ^_^

and...my left repulsor glove is finished ^_^

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

@deathbox:

i've been working on a hybrid suit using bits and peices from peps that i like. using robo's torso, JUICE's War Machine shoulders, using MK III style arms, and not sure what legs im going to use lol

also, back to the Javis emulation, i think something smaller than that pc you reccomend(prahaps micro processor?) would be a safe bet. i've been doing research into it and you can have various micro units slaved to a master central unit. a mini PC gives off a lot of heat and there is a huge chance for failure there.

any one find out a micro flight system yet? lol

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

can anyone share how to make the face plate open?

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

to open the faceplate, your going to have to use a hinge & pullies.

hey robo any eta on the spine yet as that's the only major component missing?

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

i was actually looking up flight... i highly doubt repulsors are possible, so the next best thing seems to be kerosene based fuel - unfotunatly you would barely get a long enough supply of thrust for 'super jumping', flight would be almost impossible.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - hip pod and foot flap now available

i would like to share some pictures of my newly constructed (from some sort of "printed" materials) triangular arc reactor ^_^

i saw a vid on youtube for a pair of jet boots here -> YouTube - ‪Wingsuit flying with rocketboots - CRAZY!‬‎

im not sure what fuel they used, but im sure there is a way to slim them down or atleast open up the intake to get lift. he said he flew (literaly) for over 2000 meters (not sure how long that is when converted from metric) and that was after jummping out of a plane.

as for faceplate hinges, im going to use a cheap Erector set from walmart or something. any one think of a way to open the faceplate from the center - like butter fly doors on a car?

@ ironmaided: is that styrene or paper?

its a cardboard..but first i had to print a pattern and paste it on the cardboard...
i don't have time to buy some leds because its raining here ^_^

so i decided to make it fast and cheap....the light is from a flash-light bulb...:cool
