Robo, I have finished my Helmet mold for the MK VI, I will resume work on your armor, and continue to use your great files. I will be molding, and casting every part in Standard Scale so I will keep you posted!

I'm actually using 3mm wetsuit so I can sew some harnesses and stuff. So I'll see how I can "cheat" with the front elbows and back of the knee with it.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - 27/6 first post rewritten, RIGHT LEG in first p

What do you mean "not with fiberglass resin? Thats how I did my helmet and it worked perfectly fine! IDK what happened when you used it, but it works great for me
yes Shade, but not everyone has been that lucky, I've talked to quite a few fella's who have used good old regular dollar store scotch tape and had it dissolve while pep resining.

it's really a factor of which tape your using and what Brand/type Resin. In the past i've found that some types of Resin will or will not eat some brands of tape. Which has lead to a few unmitigated disasters (ie model breaking apart and hardening all warped)
yeh i think a painted undersuit would be the easiest option.....

on a little side note.....is there anywhere people have used 3d modeling and pepakura designer to make clothes patterns?....because I'm trying it....and i think its going to work.....and i want to know if i'm breaking new grounds here or not....lol...

Yeah a painted undersuit is how i was going to do my Mk3 undersuit. it's actually very easy, as was described while keeping mobility.

Sorry to say but no, there are several industry programs for years now that let the designer model thier design and produce 2d cutting patterns so i've been told by a fashion design student friend of mine. It's basically a cross between 3ds and papakura designer.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - 27/6 first post rewritten, RIGHT LEG in first p

well yeah I know there's industrial programs but I meant the first using pep for clothes patterns.....it remains to be seen if the actual clothing parts will work but I've already created several templates for leather based pieces for my ezio costume.....once I get my foam I'll be making a new thread with some progress/research on that

And like you said it depends on the kind of tape. I don't buy my tape from the dollar store cuz like one comedian said on Last Comic Standing "When you buy from the 99 cent store, you get 99 cent quality" Anyway, I'll take a picture of the box that the role of tape came from. I think its Scotch Magic and in any case, it doesn't dissolve, it hardened with the cardstock so I'll see if I can find a box of what I use. I think theres one in the drawer.... somewhere....

yeah i think the knees and elbows are something best left to the individual as its something i don't really know how to make a template for...lol....

I am thinking of using ribbed drainage pipe, for the knees and elbows. It may be too ridged, but we'll see. Here is what it looks like

BTW, Robo your work is great!!!! Just finished the Mark IV chest pep, now I have to resin. Thanks for all your time to building these for everyone.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - 27/6 first post rewritten, RIGHT LEG in first p

is there a big difference between pepping the full arm versus the 4 part arm?

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - 27/6 first post rewritten, RIGHT LEG in first p

Hello Bak.

They are the same. The full arm is still in separate pieces... it's just all in the same pep file that is all.

The reason he released the files separately was to accommodate people who may have super wide biceps but small wrists etc.. those who need different scale across the arm.

What is the pocket on top for on the top of the spine? future plans? did you have an idea on how to splice this thing, since the collar doesn't fit over the head?
