hey robo, this maybe a leap in terms of pdo files, but have you considered a MK5 helm? i know its just the standard helm with some etching on the brows and inner cheeks, unless im wrong.

anywho would you allow me to share a modded shakbeetle helm on this thread?

I just started assembling my armor. Amazing work robo! I'll probably be making some modifications since I'm 6'3" and 230lbs haha. Do you use 3dsmax? I'm quite handy with a 3dsmax and was going to make my own armor but yours is too awesome to pass up. ... and I'm lazy

would it be too much to ask for your .max file? it would be easier to modify if I had it in it's native format. Or even if you could export it to .3ds file that would be great. If not... no biggie.

To those that have finished the feet; is it hard to walk in without an articulated to peice? That's one of the things I want to modify. also, I want to make the thigh bridge to the cod piece and articulated elbow and knee joints.

I know pepakura has an export option but I'm iffy about it. I'm not sure if pepakura loses stuff when it exports.

If finished pepping the chest brace, collar pieces, and neck but I don't really want to post pictures until I've 'glassed and smoothed them out.

@MightyJohn how does joint compound hold up for detailing? will it take a lot of stress or do I have to worry about dropping and cracking it?

indigojack - Pepakura will export in OBJ format, and it's the exact same geometry you see on the screen. I've exported a couple of files to open in Lightwave, make some minor mods, then re-imported back into Pepakura with no problems. You do have to know how to unfold the model again, though - not hard, but there's a short learning curve and it can be a bit time consuming until you get used to it...and even after that depending on how complex the model is. :lol

I know, I would just prefer the .max file because it would be easier to work with

No worries though, if that's what I have to do then that's what I'll do.

Yeah, obj and 3ds are pretty universal. obj is actually just a text file with vertex info (so it loads slower) and 3ds is a binary but can only hold a limited number of vertices.

and in other news just thought I'd let you guys know that progress on the hi-res War Machine pep's will be delayed until the new year. I've just finished the lo-res ones for jordan, but the more detailed ones are going to have to wait a bit...

got a project going on with a friend thats dragged on for 5 years (my fault..lol...being sick slows things down) so I'm going to try and focus on that for the rest of the year and finally get it out of the way....

i'll pop in here regularly of course......oh and if you guys want the lo-res war machine stuff (i say lo-res but its still pretty detailed), I'll need someone to unfold it for me as i won't have the time......

Yes, that is very possible. I'd imagine it would be difficult though to visualize all those vertices and see the shape in your head. there are plenty of free 3d programs that will allow you to import and export obj format.

edit: just remembered that you mentioned you had milkshape so you can ignore the part about getting a 3d app

Any chance of removing detail, and letting us use it to adjust sizes so we're ready for the high detail WM (if your doing the detail armor the same size)?

Sharkhead didn't do any War Machine peps other than a helmet a long time ago. JUICE modeled the only set of War Machine files out there right now
