Risu's Star Lord build

I haven't posted anything in a while, but I have been working on things. I got really lucky and got a chance to see some screen used stuff up close. I can't share most of what I was able to learn, which was A LOT. I will say however, that I got pretty close with my helmet lens design. As a matter of fact, the only things I did differently from the actual helmet actually resulted in the eyes looking better than the screen used. They had post effects helping them out to make the eyes look red, my lenses don't need it.

I've also tracked down the snaps that are all over everything. I can't post about those just yet, but in the next week or so I should have everything set up to possibly do a group buy. No PMs please, if it works out I'll post a run thread and link it here.

Risu thanks for the pictures. I need to change my grey shirt now . Anyone know where to get an accurate inner grey shirt?

Risu, Awesome, ill keep my eye out for your group buy thread ;) I dont know if you saw the back of the belt in the stuff. But i did find a frame of the back and im redoing my belt i made.

Can you post that back of the belt shot? I've seen one, but it was way too small to make out any detail.

Krell, he wears at least 2 different shirts in the movie. This one that he wore with the coat is blue, the other was grey. They custom made them for the production, so you can't really buy an accurate one. But they're made from pique knit (polo shirt fabric) so if you can find some of that, you could make one. (If you do find any, please post a link, I haven't had any luck)

I haven't spent a lot of time getting the costume itself together lately, been making a lot of arm badges and helmet lenses. I have been working on a machined arm valve for a little while that I hope to finish soon. I also upgraded from my MDuckett helmet to a SoloRoboto. I've spent a lot of time getting it cleaned up, split, and magnetized over the last couple weeks, and I'll be just about ready to paint the helmet by the end of this week. I'll be uploading some more up to date pictures a little later, but here's the helmet as it was about a week ago.

It's an excellent helmet and I highly recommend it. In terms of accuracy, the two clear frontrunners right now are his and the Rocketeer helmet. While I like the shape of the eye bezels on the Rocketeer and the width of the mouth grill, I think this one is the winner for overall shape.

Since taking this picture, I've opened up the holes at the front of the breather tubes, split the side seams, and added magnets and fiberglass to create an overlapping shelf inside the split. Tomorrow I'll be filling in some holes and pits in the fiberglass, patching a couple thin spots under the chin, and hollowing out the recesses behind the eyes and the fronts of the tubes for the lenses and the metal mesh.
