Limited Run Rey Goggles (Made to Order) from The Force Awakens

On the goggles upgrade front...

I have not yet heard back about the construction, but I have worked out a tentative arrangement with @JJGriffin to offer a working light upgrade for those of you who want it. This would be available for an additional cost going forward. If you already have my goggles and want to upgrade you can go direct to JJ to purchase the light either finished or in kit form.

I should receive a sample kit in a few days, and at that time we will be finalizing the arrangements, and I will be able to advise as to the added cost. I will also be able to determine just how easy/difficult it will be to adapt to my goggles, but I expect it will be simple, as we are all using the same "helping hand" mount system.

Stay Tuned :thumbsup

I would be interested if this goes through!

Small update:

I have all of the stunt lights for run#2 casted up. They will be trimmed, sanded, drilled and have the helping hand arms installed tonight, and get their first coat of paint.

Tomorrow they will get finish paint and detailing, and have the lenses installed.

All this going smoothly, they will ship out this Friday! :thumbsup

I never really covered those things in this thread. The shoulder pad was a rush job, and the backpack--though it took a fair amount of work--wasn't properly documented either.

I bought a hand tied kitchen rug at Dollar General and cut it up for the shoulder pad...then just painted it. The webbing bits on it were odds and ends I had here at my work (I work in an military surplus store) but I can take all of the closeup pics you like of these items if it will help you with your build.

For the backpack I'd begun with a messenger bag that I'd purchased from Amazon, and cut it basically in half and stitched it back together. After it was complete (and it did look awesome) I decided (why, oh why?) to make another from scratch using raw hide.

That one looks awesome too...but I didn't really document either build. I was graciously given someone else's hand drafted pattern for the pack, and used that when I made my second pack, but the first one I just eyeballed.

The funny thing is that they turned out almost identical. :p

Oh yes, photos of the shoulder piece would really help, as I am completely new at this! I bought the backpack you got on Amazon and cut up. I will have to find someone to work in it as I think leatherwork is beyond me!

lights all painted and installed!

We received Dani's goggles too. Incredible work, Kristen!!! Thank you SO VERY much for getting them to us in time for MegaCon at the end of this week. And thanks again to JediEddy for switching runs with me so that Dani could have these in time. May The Force Be With You All!!

BTW these will be shipping with the next run of googles.

I will also send them to those on run 1 and 2 who want them. they aren't anything fancy... I just printed them out on sticker paper and covered it with wide packing tape so it makes a sticker. it may not last forever... but it's free.

If I knew someone in the sticker biz that could do them up proper like, that would be awesome
.
