Just a teensey update:
I have added the newcomers to the wait list. Once the wait list is up to 8, I will start the process for a second run.
As I'd mentioned earlier, as soon as I have my face plates and lenses in hand I will be converting this thread to a Project Run. Once that happens, i will be taking payments from the people on the Project Run list.
I will be building goggles concordantly, so that way i can get them all done and shipped out faster...nobody wants to wait an eternity for their goods, right?
The second run--if there is to be one--will follow in the same fashion: once materials are in hand it will go from a waiting list to a project run, and I will collect payments. then i will build concordantly and ship out.
One other thing to mention: I did edit this into the first page, but just to reiterate:
I have settled on using lenses from Vader Painter.

He is also a member here, but has instructed me to direct any of you who are interested in his top notch work to contact him on facebook, as he is not as active here.
His lenses are THE best there are...100% screen accurate ANH Green TK Bubble Lenses. And since that is what the production team used to make Rey's googles, it follows that they should be used in the making of my goggles.
I was very graciously given a few sets of smaller lenses from another RPFer ( I am TRULY grateful for that) however, they were ultimately too small to be used in the TK face Plates I use. I *may* have been able to rig them somehow, but I saw no reason to compromise...my Sister Reys (and Reys-with-an "A", as I call the cross play Reys) deserve the very best...and Vader Painter delivers on that. :thumbsup
I'm hoping to see face plates and lenses by the end of the week, so keep a close eye on the thread, and when it changes to Project Run, then it's time for payments.

I've noticed a pattern of late...the last several people asking to be added to the wait list have done so with their very first post on the RPF.
Folks, please do make sure that you are genuinely interested before asking to be put on the wait list. I don't mean to sound unkind, but I wouldn't want someone's spot on the list being clogged with people only looking to up their post count.
I genuinely appreciate the enthusiasm you all have shown toward my little cobble-shop adventure. I can't wait to get going on these for you all. :thumbsup

Another small update:
I received ten PRISTINE sets of green bubble lenses today from Vader Painter...! Time to dirty them up! LOL
I also negotiated an arrangement with him to produce my faceplates for me, so i can get them faster...and cheaper!
So what all this means is that as long as you all still want goggles, I can keep doing extra runs!
The first run will commence as soon as the plates arrive (probably tomorrow or Monday). Since I have a good waiting list established now--and since I can reliably get plates and lenses from Vader Painter--I will be transferring all those on the waiting list into run #2 as soon as run #1 is complete.
Run #2 will also be 8 slots. I have that many on the wait list now, so run #2 will be a go as long as nobody drops out.
I will still take more waiters...those will just get put in line for run#3, if we get that many requests.
As of now I'm just waiting on raw materials to show up, and then it's time to get building!!!

I also took a few more pictures of my new prototypes, showing the new more accurate goggle clips, and also showing what the inside of the goggles look like all on the front page.
I have been getting a steady flow of requests for these--and I've now got a solid supply chain--so I'm thinking at least three runs will be done, possibly more if you all still want these.
So for now, keep chiming in if you want to be added to the list. Run #1 will commence as soon as my materials arrive...which should be this Monday.:thumbsup
