Probably one of my favorite parts of the project - maybe second to playing with laser scans of the original casts. Oh - hell - it's all my favorite part of the project.

Love seeing and reading your process. As a poly monkey I have for years tried to convince myself to pick up a CAD package, 3D printing may be the push. And your awesome looking XWing!

Yeah - it's good to know both. I use Maya quite a bit for poly modeling, but having a CAD tool or two in your toolkit really helps. moffeaton uses Rhino. I use Fusion 360 (solids) and Alias (surfacing). Each has it's strengths and quirks...
