resin question (help)

hey hunters

i was thinkin about coating my armour in resin to make it more rigid

i have a question though, i made the armour out of soft foam

i coated the armour in pva glue and painted, but if i was to coat the armour in resin, would it eat and melt right through

You’re talking about fiberglass resin?

The one time I used resin on anything foamed is was a foam mannequin head. I thought that the paint it had would be enough, but no. It shriveled up like a raisin. I took a little while for it to do it too. Man that was something.

I don't know how it would act on foamies but you might get away with it if the PVA completely sealed it. -However- the heat may be an issue too. That I don't know for sure. The best way is to try on a sample.
 
If you will use Smooth Cast 300 it will work nice.
It will Be Hand warm only and i use it for all Kind of Materials.
