Small update.
I know I'm jumping the gun a bit and I really should've finished off the honey combing first but I couldn't resist getting the asics running shoes attached so this is what I've got so far:

The white heel and and toe parts need painting red, gonna get the airbrush on them and also weather them up at bit. In some pics spideys boots look a bit grimey and that's the look I'm going for.

Wow! I hadn't seen this thread. MCL34N had told me about it and how good you were doing laying in the HC on the sewn suit. I'm very impressed! Great job! As someone who has laid on webbing (both puffy and latex) over finished suits, I know how hard it is but this is probably 10x even more detail work and you are tackling it like a boss.

Secondly, I'm waiting on my asics to do this installation myself. How difficult would you say the whole thing was? Did you remove the laces and strip out the shoe's raised detail? What size did you get? Did it fit alright or run small? and thirdly, what paints will you be using? Gracias amigo! Great job!!

Okay wait, if I'm seeing correctly, you actually cut out all the top portion of the shoe. Is that correct?

Mate your fett suit was fantastic... but this is just dam right sexy. I can only imagine the patience needed to apply that puff paint. I think it deserves some rep.

That is correct my friend. I trimmed the top part off entirely. If you do it the way I did it actually turned out to be very easy indeed. To give the lycra boot some 'structure' I inserted a foam neoprene wetsuit sock then used a strong hold epoxy to attach the asics. The wetsuit sock did a nice job of giving that 'boot look' I've seen in ref pics.
Hope that makes sense.
As for size I got an 11 (US). I'm actually a 10.5 but I thought I'd play it safe. As it turns out I wish I'd got a 10.5 or maybe even a 10. Once you've stripped the shoe down and removed the huge amount of foam padding in the heel (this padding has to be removed to make it flush with the lycra) there was a good inch and a half gap between the toe end of the lycra and the toe of the shoe. Had to stretch it quite a bit to make them meet. Again I hope I'm making sense here.

Have you found it easier to start with the black lines?
Then go to to red honeycomb?
Will blue be the final step?
Which Dirty Dog color did you end up going with? The red's are unicorns.
So many questions but you guys are the pro's!

Hasn't really made a difference to me which I start with. If you do the red second there's more chance of slipping and going over the black lines by mistake but if your careful that shouldn't be a problem.

Yup, blue will come later but like I've said I've got an event to go to in 14days so I'll have to do the blue after that.

I went with the red/white asics.

Nice work man. Care to give a quick idea on how to do the HC? I know mcl34n is going to do a full tut but I can't wait. Just a brief idea of what is expected? Is it really just thousands of little circles?

They're more like little hexagons than circles. The paint just needs to be squeezed straight out of the bottle onto the pattern while applying a small amount of pressure to keep the amount of paint coming out constant.

Whats the durability like on the puffpaint? I could never pull off a spidey suit but would still like a suit or a mask in future for display. Ive always liked the 3D urethane webbing on the Raimi suit, but never got one as I always thought they were a little temperamental.

Well it's a lot cheaper than Fett that's for sure. But I still miss my Fett, was my pride and joy. Anyway, that's life.

Durability is pretty good. The only problems I've had is that it can start to split when it's too thick and being stretched too far. But if you keep it thin-ish, give it plenty of time to dry and don't over stretch it's fine.
I was worried the neck area would start splitting when pulled over the head as, obviously, the head is a lot bigger than the neck but it was totally fine.

I know what you mean mate, ive seriously had to put thought into wether to sell mine or not. Im off to uni now and an £3000 would be very helpful. Instead im selling bits I can easily replace, so the helmet and jetpack will be going soon :cry

Ive never actually used puff paint, sounds like a great little material. Will you be going with a face shell as well?

The suit does look fantastic, for how awesome your fett was this makes up for in cool and style factor. I can also imagine how irritating it is to apply the puff paint yet also seem strangely relaxing.

As you can see the glove isn't the best in the world. It's the first part I did and you can tell, bit blobby here and there.
That's why I really recommend lots of practise before moving onto the actual thing.

The red octos looks great in the picture!
Its crazy how well it all comes together with the colors once you get more octos on there.
