Thanks for the head's up!
I will be sure to go out and grab these pics. And maybe a slide or two.
Good question!!Just watched your latest, very interesting. So was the timing of those slides being offered on EBay in relation to your BHI / Multiplex hologram reveal just a remarkable coincidence?
Interesting, and makes one wonder what other info or materials are out there / may continue to come to light. Regardless it’s great that so much of the story is now a matter of record.
Not sure if I understood a response you made to a comment to your video, but it sounded like you were saying you thought the model may have been originally requested for the express purpose of making the hologram, but if so, why would that request have occurred so far in advance of the TMP premier event the hologram was said to be made for?
Great sleuthing, Jim, thank you for joining us!
Please do be careful not to refer to motion picture film as "video" as you did twice in the latest video. I spare people my pedantry when this happens in casual conversation or even in posted videos, but under these circumstances of documentation and recording for posterity, where minor details are turning out to be vital links in a chain, being precise is very important.
Again, thanks for the detective work, this has been a fascinating ride!
There are other materials out there. I've had various rolls of film from this sequence (and related ones) for many months and have been in communication with the authentication team. The film tells an interesting, more complex story. I'm excited to reveal more details soon so stay tuned!Interesting, and makes one wonder what other info or materials are out there / may continue to come to light. Thanks! And thanks for the kudos on the book -- it's much appreciated.Great to have you aboard, David
I look forward to hearing about your discoveries.
Love your book, BTW.

Well, phooey…that would have allowed back-engineeringIn fact, my personal belief is the the hologram never was actually delivered back to anyone.
If you're wanting to 3D print the model, I think you might be able to do it from the film. Technically, the vertical information is a little sparse, relative to the horizontal information, but it's still there. I had my film telecined in 4K so it has some detail.Well, phooey…that would have allowed back-engineering

Your photographs show the droop of the nacelles long before the discovery of the model in storage (and the Pine Sol incident).
Some notes.. I would like to see on your YouTube channel…one page of TMoST has a secondary hull with no sphere that almost looks like Musk’s Starship
Also—there may be fanzines with ship art before FJ tech manuals got folks used to modularity…I have often wondered what ships described in novels would look like—messy can turn text into models.

Thanks, and I'm glad you got the joke!Fascinating read.
I especially enjoyed how this enigma was worded:
“So, what did Paramount need with a holographic starship?”
