Recasting a Sci-Fi Icon; The Classic Star Trek Communicator

^ Very nice. Has any thought been given to offering parts such as bezel rings and speaker grilles for retrofitting other communicators (such as the AA/DST model recently out)?

I have one that's itching for an upgrade and suspect that others do too.

Oohh, oohh...me me me!!

Yes, it could be cool to be able to buy some pieces to upgrade AA/DS comms....
John ? :angel

Somehow I doubt my license covers that sort of thing:lol
However, if an extremely accurate re-creation of the original
filming prop is what you're after, that I will be able to help
you with.

Besides, the AA/DST is pretty cool just the way it is. I know
I like mine:)

Thanks. BTW, this is going to be a super limited edition-
we're talking like 750 kits worldwide. I will be alerting those
who sign-up on the "Reserve My Comm List" first (about 24
hours before the general notice of availability) then I will post
here and on my website. Before that happens, I will likely post
pictures of the last components (shells, knobs, boxes etc.) here.

Thanks again for your support guys:)

John... I'm not the hugest TOS fan in the house or an expert but those kits look absolutely amazing! Maybe I missed these questions but is your "reservation list" full yet? And have you decided on a final price? Right now I don't think I can commit to being on a list but I'm going to try to find the scratch for one of these for sure! Great work!

The final price is not set in stone yet, but they will be somewhere
between $199.00-$230.00. I want to keep them right at the $200.00
price point, but it cost a fortune to do a small run of really precision kits.
I am doing my best to keep the price down, without compromising the
quality. As for the "Reserve My Comm" list, you just need to e-mail me
with that in the subject line. Also, please include your contact info, and
number of kits you think you'll want.

Thanks.

We're looking at probably about two weeks from now for the shells.
The complete kits should be ready to ship within a week or two after that:)

Is it wrong to say I feel aroused by the shots of all the components waiting to be grouped into kits? :love

Awesome shots, John. Thanks for sharing those!

Do you send any kind of confirmation to those who have e-mailed you in order to be put on the list? I wrote to you way back when you first introduced the "Reserve MY Comm" list and assumed I was put on the list at that time, but I don't really know for sure. I don't want to miss the boat on these!

I must admit that while I love the old ST, I've never had any interest in props - until now. This is just too cool to pass up!

All of the trolling posts and responses to them have been removed. Any further postings on that same (or related) tangents are strongly discouraged.

Thanks!
