The problem is Gen Z doesn't give a wooden nickel about Star Trek. The core fanbase (read: old people) are the only ones who don't think ST is lame.

Why reboot TOS... when they have a whole universe outside of TOS and the other series to play with? If they had any creativity at all?
Moore already "rebooted" a version of Star Trek: Deep Space 9, and called it Babylon 5. It was great, and somehow he did it concurrently with the actual show!

Because they DON'T Have any creativity. They rely on the small but VERY vocal group of supporters who say how great this rubbish is to continue.
