Thought i would share some joy and show you my paint process for my first MC/FAC Rogue One X-Wing helmet.
I started with a blank slate white helmet. I went through about 10 to 12 design ideas finished with copic marker on paper and settled on a personal look that has a little japanese flavor and also harkens back to the good old F-14 Tomcat days but still a Star Wars look. I wanted to create one that is a tribute to Blue Squadron, so the color scheme sticks with blue.
I started with a very light wet sanding and then an olive green matte coat for the base. This is because all the helmets in the OT were based on the military APH-6 and those start out as olive drab then are either taped or painted, so i wanted my weathering and scratches to go back to the base olive color.
After the olive color i added masking liquid in areas and let that dry.
More to come!
