I have been thinking about a costume for about 3 years now.I am taking a step on a new world. I am going to create/modify Buzz lightyear, realistic. I have so far put together , halo armor, ironman, buzz lightyear, and some old fashion rocketeer into my idea. I am new here but I have been making costumes of my favorite hero's sense I was 5 years old . I will need some help here . thanks everyone. I already have the globe and a lot of ex-cel(used to be Sentra for those who have been around for a long time) I don't have time to sculpt this I am going to use the bolt and screws. the wings will pup up and light up every where .

Can't wait to see this! I fell through on trying to create my realistic Buzz after countless tries to find the right scale on all the pep pieces.

The sketch looks like an amazing start btw!

Thank you here is one I did today. I am going parts finding. already have the boot,Globe(although I hope 18in will be big enought) found a Linear actuator for the wings, there is not much else to do but make the armor . . . and thats the easy part!

You drew that? Cause that is a sick concept drawing. Look forward to watching this one for sure.

I'm excited to see this! My next project is going to be a Buzz but just the normal one. Fantastic work so far, I'm loving the concept

This is an absolutely brilliant idea! The concept drawings are fantastic! Can't wait to see what you come up with :D

Yes I did do the concept drawing . Thanks everyone this weekend I am putting together the wings (just the metal structure) Plan on having them pop out and be a 8 feet wing span. any idea to add to this (other than flashing lights sound and a spring loaded dome/canopy ) are much appreciated .

Cool!

I did the same thing last year, got a hell of a reaction from people at PAX2011 and ECCC in 2012. I might dust it off and redo some of the more troubled places for a V2 of it next year.

Sound to make him talk in other languages (like the Spanish) from Toy Story 3! Or, learn how to say some of those phrases yourself.

Really cool. You can fake the Kung fu chop. Make the helmet slide/pop on by pressing a button.

I tried to do something similar last year but found that I am not very good at creating patterns for armor and could not find a pep that was similar to what I wanted. Watching this closely.

Sorry i have heard alot about this "PEP" stuff . WHAT IS IT ? thnaks for the ideas . found a way to make the helmet slide ans the wings to open and wing lights to turn on.

"Pep" is short for Pepakura, a computer program that gives you a guide on how to cut out and assemble 3-d models from cut and folded pieces of paper. There is a free version of the program online. Check out any thread with "pep" or "pepakura" in the thread title, you'll see the cut/folded/glued paper models they are building.
