Next issue arrived today, as well as the Special Issue with the ´55 wheels :) :)

#110 / 130

spare wheel parts - same as #3, 9, 13, 15 ;)
wipers - plastic

they also threw in two rubber bands ( with a round diameter ) to replace the original on the engine ( square diameter )
Dont know why, and no word in the instructions why, but personaly I like the originals better.... mysterious

#Special 3

Wheels - vinyl / rubber
Red Parts - metal
Silver Caps, Vents - plastic

All four wheels are the same size, so I think mounting the front ones, might become a "little" tricky. Besides, without moding the front suspensions, it just looks wrong.
As for me, I never planed to mount them anyway, but that damn little completist in my head screamed "Duuuuude ! You need them, no matter what !!!" ;) ;) :) :)

Wow...long wait from from issue #1 and #2 and receiving the top of the original reactor till you get the base!

Looking awesome, good touch with the weathering. I've been taking queues from your work and doing the same on mine as well.

Hello everybody :)
After a short break, a new issue arrived today. This time from my french source again ;)

And some big news, I just recently learned. The official build is finished with #130, the car itself even a few issues earlier, the last 3 or 4 issues will deliver some kind accessoires, like a plutonium crate, the small gold clock on the dashboard...

But Eaglemoss IS already offering an option to extend current subscriptions for 25 more issues, wich will deliver a part of railway tracks fitting onto the displaybase, track wheels and the front hood timemachinery-box. They are really, really, REALLY milking it..... although it was such a nobrainer, after they announced and delivered the white-wall ´55 wheels ;)
Only thing missing now, would be an official lighting-catcher-rod

"The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"

The Bad:

Currently waiting for the next bunch of issues to arrive. One from France, and four from UK. Status of both sendings is currently unknown for some reason. Might have to do with the easter holidays. Hope they arrive by end of next week

The Good:

My Dad surprised me today with a belated birthday present. 5 week overtime but I didn´t expect anything at all, as our family is not making presents, except for either cash or vacations.
Anyway, with a litte help from the Mrs., he managed to sneak into our appartment and took measurements from the still packed and bubblewrapped EM Display Base.
And today he surprised me with this

Extra01.jpg
Extra02.jpg
Extra03.jpg

Its made from 6mm fishtank glass and fits perfect inside the EM frame. Thank you Dad :) :) :)

The Ugly:

As mentioned above, the Display Base was still in its original package, corners covered and wrapped with bubblewrap, since it arrived months ago. But when I removed the wrapping and the corner covers, I really became pissed off.

Extra05.jpg

All four corners look like this. And its falling apart into all its pieces, too. There is not a single sign of glue anywhere. Not in the recess where the mirror ( ??? ) is sitting, as well not inside the corners :( :(
*Sarcasm mode ON* : Ah, I get it. The base is considered being part of the kit. *Sarcasm mode OFF*
The "mirror" is not even a real one, just some kind of foil !!!
Man, this piece is by far not worth the 60.- they are taking for. IMO not even 20.-
Judging this, I am glad I did NOT order THEIR glass topping.

I know, I should have checked it already when I got it, but I am not going through the trouble now of getting yet another replacement. Yes, this is already a replacement as the very first one, disappeared in the mail somewhere.
I will try to find some steel or maybe brass cornercovers to hide the damage and fix them together.

Well done on getting the glass casing (good on Mum & Dad eh! - Oh, happy belated birthday too!).
The situation with the EM display base (?) - that’s a crappy thing to have happened, considering it’s a ‘replacement’ , and no doubt the amount of time & money you’ve already spent towards this..., it’s not really acceptable !
You’re planning to replace it so I’m positive that in the end it’ll be 1000% more suitable for displaying your uniquely beautiful model anyway.(y)

The above mentioned 5 issues arrived at last :) :)

Gorgeous, simply gorgeous build mate ..., makes me wish I’d taken out a newsagent sub when it was offered over here quite awhile ago !.
Then again, I know I wouldn’t have the time, skills or budget to finish it off as you almost have - nice weathering details too:cool: ..., I’m still working on the Deago MF (2016) for Pete’s sake !!!:rolleyes:

Thank you, mate :)

I hear ya, I too was unsure at first, to start this one as it was unknown at that time if it would even see release over here. But then there was suddenly some extra money left and I ordered the first 10 issues.
I now know, I would never have forgiven myself by not doing it. :):):):):)

Its actually my third magazine build in a row, with a fourth already starting to pile up ;)

Excellent work with the added weathering. She's turning out awesome!

Stuck on issue 21(?) here, back ordered so no deliveries for the last two months :(

Doing the same build here but got problems with eaglemoss like most peps. Still awaiting my next batch of issues from the last 2 months. They keep saying on and on about out of stock will let you know when back in and the whole 14 - 21 days max thing. Really getting fed up with this now. Not to mention the big leap from 4 issues a month to 6. Idk what happened there. But that really caught me off cause i could easily afford the £34.99 a month. Easy, then it goes up to £55 a month. I can make it but that doesnt give me a lot left over for my other hobbies. Im very tempted to just stop the build but ive already got the frame and etc And i would like this model. Its just eaglemoss really arent great at the whole business operating are they.

That sucks Thats exactly the reason why I didn't the subscription and stayed on buying back issues from different sources, EM UK-Shop, Journaux.fr... That way I could buy what I can affort every month. Don't care about the mags language.
Thats also why I finished the main build in only 1,5 years

Depending on where you are located, you might want to try that too

I wish I could but my only source for getting em is direct from eaglemoss. So although they can be a pain in my a** It is cheaper rather than buying em individually and paying separate Postage and packaging costs
