Re: Mostly Screen-Used Vader Costume
Interesting photos, thank you for sharing them with us
Can I give you a seamstresses point of view? I am a third generation seamstress, so am aware of how the machines used in the 70's measured quilting to keep it even.
I have looked at making a vader suit, and have looked at many reference pictures provided by many here and on other prop websites.
Looking at this leather suit, the quilting on the legs appear to be different than shots of reference photos I have. It also appears to be very tight around the knees for someone who looks to be a lot slighter than David Prowse.
The quilting on the arms is very wide. Difficult from the shots to see the vest accurately, but once again don't seem to match.
In my honest opinion it doesn't look like the screen used suit or the one worn by the Don Post guy who did the promotional work after Star Wars was released.
My apologies for my opinion, I certainly don't want to seem to be confrontational, but those things were glaringly obvious to me, occupational hazard I suppose :$
Kind regards,
