Re-make of "Dune"

For a people who are ALL about stealth, it seems odd to me that both the David Lynch film and this one have the Fremen running around in stillsuits that don't blend with their surroundings. (One of the few costume choices I liked from the SyFy series.)

I think there just comes a point where you just have to err on the side of making sure the movie looks good too. And the fremen clotting is one of the biggest things that would dork that up.

Form fitting brown body suits with no features on them. With full head/hair coverings, and face coverings. With brown cloaks covering up most of that. In a brown setting. Regardless of the accuracy or realism that would come from that, people, in general, would hate it. The mind of the viewer would wander, interest would drop, and they'd come away having been bored by any scene with them in it.

Also it would be impossible to distinguish characters. Lynch's design was absolutely impractical in leaving the foreheads open, I mean it's a massive surface that sweats a ton but there are obvious reasons for that. I'm having trouble recognizing characters in simple military hekmets in some war movies, but that's prob just me. The colour could have been a bit more desert camo, that's true though but I like the design, even if it looks a bit like sportsbike gear.

It’s the sports bike gear look I like least. That said it’s a minor gripe.

Yup, Denis does not disappoint. Strange choice with the Pink Floyd cover, hope Hans Zimmer will make a good theme-based soundtrack instead of his usual escalating BWRAAAAAAAAA stuff.
I'm really pleased, it looks fantastic, costumes, characters, environment, production design are all what I was hoping for. Super excited.

Also very excited, it looks really good, I only hope the many known actors will not hinder when watching the movie.

btw, what is happening with the series, wasn't it supposed to tie in with the movie or something ?

The choice of Eclipse was totally a Jodorowsky influence.

Love me Pink Floyd DSOTM!

Felt a little odd for me in the trailer, maybe it was the choir singing it instead of the actual album track being played?

Not familiar with its link to Jaberwakies Dune Howe er.

Alejandro Jodorowsky had planned a film adaptation of Dune in the 70s. He wanted Pink Floyd to provide the music for the film. The use of Eclipse must have been a homage to this, especially when the version in the trailer is a new arrangement by Hans Zimmer, who's scoring the new movie.

I think we're missing the most important element of the trailer here; Are those guys in the hybrid cloth/hard armor and the clear face shields Harokonnen regulars, or are those lean-mean-agile Sardaukar?

Rabban walking with the black armored guys in the same black armor as him, has me unsure. :p

I assumed it was the sardaukar. Meaning they won't be wearing Harkonnen uniform probably.
