I'm glad you guys liked the box. My company designed and built the box and the containers inside of it, based on art department reference. We built several versions for the film, stunt versions that didn't open, a version that was a puppeteered box and three that were fully functional, so that each piece of the locking puzzle that was discovered would trigger the next mechanism. To speak to two points raised earlier, yes the text was backwards and no, it wasn't intentional. The art department provided us with the text that they wanted enscribed on the box and it wasn't until after they had begun filming that the wife of one of the rabbis working with production noticed that they had provided backwards text, but by then it was too late to correct. Secondly, yes, the props were destroyed in a fire but that was after filming was complete. Nevertheless, production asked us to make replacement functional prop boxes to replace those lost in the fire. Check out my website at
