Qui-Gon CE

Has anybody taken one of these apart yet? I know it comes in a few different pieces...the pommel screws right off. The emitter section clearly separates from the grip area (and I'm sure the sleeve slides right off if the proper pieces are removed). I'm curious if the red button is glued in or screwed/locktite'd in. And does the emitter come off?

I've wanted an EL qui-gon for a while, and it seems like it'd be easy enough to hollow out if it's cast zamac or zinc. A lot easier to hollow out and get a new emitter than having somethign all new machined (or purchase an EL HK. The CE's are going for 70-80 bucks on eBay).

Are you sure you want EL, and not something brighter like a super-bright LED or a Hyperblade?
Here is a thread on another board on how a guy built his own Qui-Gon saber with a super-bright LED.

Id like to know in particular how to take the sleeve off.

I use the term EL interchangeably with all the other saber blade types. I'll probably go Luxeon. I have a luxeon graflex. It's okay. Everybody loves the MR because they scroll, and nobody has that "ooh" factor when i show 'em the luxeon.
