QMX New Releases: Trek, Stargate, DW, WH13 PICS PG.2

No excitement over the Viper?! I really want to see how that turns out.

From Doug Drexler's web site...

"My pals at Quantum Mechanix just sent me the DRADIS screen for their upcoming and mind-blowing 18″ Viper Mk II miniature. These guys do the best stuff out there. Be sure to visit their web site!
This DRADIS screen is an enhanced OLED display that measures just .79″ wide (20mm) and can display 65K colors at 96×64 pixel resolution."

That's pretty amazing. I can't wait. I love the space scenes in this show.

Wow, great DRADIS. Didn't Moffeaton do a similar one earlier this year? I believe his was the smallest. Hm, I guess flatery and all that.

That sonic truely looks great. Hopefully it will se the light of day. And I was about to buy at CT version. Still might. Please more pics! :love

They do have plans to go on and produce every other sonic from the newer series if this version does well, the dradis on the viper is incredible, especially for it's scale, looks way better in person. I'm hoping the zag will go for around 3-600, that's just what I'm thinking, they now have up for display ther metal mal pistols, look great! and they've also put up there new phaser from star trek, witch doesent in my opinion looks outstanding, hopefully it's still in the production stage, but I'll snag one just the same, it's quite larger than the toy version with makes it look more intimidating

Let's just say the proto is a...

Naw, mine is bigger - since my Viper is 1/12th scale. I changed the Dradis graphically to fit the hybrid concept I pulled outta my butt, but when I was testing it, I used a Dradis file I got from the studio stuff I have leftover from my early days of QMx:

OLED and smaller is pretty awesome. Ain't cheap though! Hope the fit and finish is up to the price it'll be. Some of those Serenity pics I've seen of shipping products show big honking seam lines - I'd FREAK if I paid good money for that.

Has anybody asked them yet about the vibration/sound thing? Sorry if I missed it, there are way too many SDCC threads right now to read them all.

a member on another forum I am on named Philip said he asked them a bunch of questions and the answer to that one was:

"Only heard about the cell vibrate being possible, along with the light, but no sound planned."

I do not understand why someone in Celestial Toymaker's position can make a nice sonic, with sound, and when we get a chance of a licensed company to make one with electronics we get vibrations?

Thats horrible.

MFX at least made sense, in a way, with their reasonings. The actual prop does not make sound, and they made it like that. Fine. Sucky but fine.

But here we have a company that made a workable Zat and they have this chance to build off and possibly make the best sonic out there and they choose...Vibration?! Bah. I would sooner buy a CT Sonic than that.

I don't know if I'd go that far, but if they do put vibration in it, that means there will be some extra internal space so they can fit it inside, which means the electronics from the CO toy might just fit if the other stuff is removed. It would be cool though if enough people said something at SDCC and on the forums to actually convince them to consider sound.

Not necessarily. You can get tiny little coin vibration motors that take up no space at all. I honestly doubt that there will be extra space. There is very little in both the CT and MFX and they are pretty much sealed in.:unsure
