PZ's SW Prop Collection - UPDATE: Authentic Symmetrical Hales Grenade - All Real Parts Obi-Wan Lightsaber

Several months ago, I took a trip to Tokyo to check out Star Wars Identities Exhibit that features many screen-used and production-made props and costumes from the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy.

Since then, I've gotten many requests to share the photos I took.
So here it is, I created a dedicated SW Identities Exhibit Album in the RPF that contains 120+ pictures.

It might be worth a view if you're looking for references for specific props, missed the exhibit, or just bored during quarantine ;)
This album shows every single item that was on display, including various lightsabers, costumes, models, etc.

This item is a piece I have been looking for a very long time.
I never thought I would own one because of its extreme rarity.
But, here it is... cast from the screen-used prop — Medal of Yavin

To my knowledge these are 1st or 2nd generation castings made by Steve Dymszo many years ago. (Thank you Brandon!)
They may not show up on pictures, but the details and damages from the screen-used prop are so crisp on this resin cast.
I believe there are some 3rd gen metal casts and even 4th gen casts, but the level of detail is not the same.

I was also able to source a vintage British Army No.2 Tie.
This seems like a fairly simple build; Can't wait to paint it up just like the way it shows up on screen.

This medal has always been special to me... just look at this picture of Mark, Carrie, and Harrison holding the medal!
It's Star Wars at its prime.

Just seen this post. I'm glad that the tie turned up from the link I sent you. Looks amazing on that medal!

PrinceZip, thank you for sharing photos of this exhibition!

Thank you for the help on locating the tie! It looks perfect with the Yavin medal cast :)

PrinceZip, thank you for sharing photos of this exhibition!

Always welcome!

Also, if anyone wants close-up pictures of particular props, just let me know.
I had to omit some extreme close-ups and duplicates from the album.

Does anyone know if there is a set of pictures taken of Obi-wan/qui-gons boots from many different angels? or the belt pouches? I'm trying to put together some orthographic pictures sets to model off of.

I didn't take many pics of the boots, since they were hidden by cloaks.
But, here are some from the exhibit.

Due to the apparent lack of blasters in my collection, I picked up this Nemrod Galeon Speargun.
This gun is a main component of Relby-k23 blasters used by Bespin guards in ESB.

If anyone's on the fence about getting this gun, I highly recommend!
It's such a satisfying object to hold and pose around :)

Or to be specific, resin castings of this from what we know so far.
But, I'm thinking there's got to be at least one master hero version used during filming.

These Spanish spearguns are not common, but they do pop up on Ebay from time to time.

I'm planning on making this into an accurate Relby-k23, as we see in the film.
Attaching greeblies and painting in silver are not hard, but the most difficult process seems to be disassembly...

Big thanks to thd9791 for putting up a comprehensive disassembly thread!
Removing the gas chamber in the back was a difficult process,
But Tom's trial and error were good references to see how it came apart.

For those planning to disassemble Nemrods in the future,
The gas chamber is simply pressure fitted, so remove the gasket in the back and just pry out the tube with a flat screwdriver.

I'm so glad my monstrosity was useful! I want to make a better one someday, yours is starting out stellar!

So... just a slotted screwdriver eh? *facepalm

There's so much turmoil and craziness happening around the world and in America.
But, I hope everyone here stays safe and spend some quality time with SW props!

Not too long ago, I received this Vintage MPP Microflash #8 from the UK.

I don't usually talk about prices, but recently,
The prices of MPPs on public auction sites have been skyrocketing towards $5k for even two-step, small B-port MPPs...
When I was losing all hope for ever getting another real MPP, I found this unit for a very cheap price

It also came with a test bulb assembly. I better get some D-cell batteries to test it out.
I'm not too sure if the test bulb assembly is made by MPP or not.

Also, non-MPP related PSA... if you're shipping a valuable item international,
DO NOT use USPS or Royal Mail!

I have another MPP on its way, and it has been going through so much delay and no tracking updates...
I've been hearing that international mails are being delayed by months or just lost.
