I'm trying to build Jinx's pow-pow minigun (the arcane version) im new to writing props and I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction when it comes to what to get to make the main barrel's and drum rotate. I'm going for a simplified version of the build, where when the handle is pulled back it makes the barrel (highlighted in green) and the drum (highlighted in red) rotate as one within the brass-looking case it sits in. BY THE WAY! The gun is printed in such a manner that the brass casing is seperate from the inner disc (the bit with the skull on it) and the metal drum. Bassically it can spin manually very roughly when all assembled. PLEASE HELP!

Don't know if you've figured this out already, but one fairly straight forward option might be to use something like a cheap electric screwdriver/drill. They'll have a nice amount of torque and speed for your application and have a chuck so it should be straightforward enough to drive your design off it.

thank you for the suggestion, I will deffo do this, Is there a way to extend the wires and change the switch? or just extend the wires and use the same switch

Yeah it's definitely possible. Hard to give any exact instructions without knowing what exact model of screwdriver you're using etc. I'm also not an expert on electronics, but if you know anyone with any kind of skill or knowledge in that it should be fairly straight forward.

My instinct would be that you're better off getting a new switch, then running some wires to the two corresponding connections of the existing switch. Basically wire it in as a bypass to the original rather than a replacement. Seems like the option that involves the least amount of surgery.

If you do try it just be careful. Take out any batteries etc. Even then there could be a capacitor in there that'll give you a shock.

Another low risk option would be if you were willing to compromise the design of it a little bit, you could move the trigger handle further back until it's lower down on the body. Then depending on the model of screwdriver that you get it could be lined up with the centre of the whole drum assembly and you could use the existing handle and trigger from the screwdriver. You'd just need to do some aesthetic work to make it fit with the look.
