Progress of m Han ANH blaster

Very nice work! :)

It reminds me of the "upgrades" Wakal and I had proposed to the board on the original MR hero's years ago.

Just awesome. Han's blaster threads like this always make me sick to the guts that there is no way I could get one posted to Australia and through our customs. Please enjoy the heck out of it for both of us :)

Good guesses guys.:lol

..............One of these days I'm gonna build a real Mauser Han ANH blaster. But until then this one should tide me over :)

Dan,
You know I have wanted to do the same thing, and recently purchased a real firing 9mm mauser from a good friend.
Its such a nice gun...I dont have the heart to do it. Also, which is why Im posting, I dont think its possible to make the modifications...and keep the gun firing.

THoughts?

Damn fine job mate...!

I agreed with an earlier comment that you had stones for dismantling the MR piece, but reading your comment it seems you made a good choice.

Cheers for sharing!

Thanks for the compliments guys. :)

Well I know Wakal has built up firing blasters before. But I think that when he made his Han ANH, he made a faux bull barrel, meaning that he slid some tubing over the original barrel, rather than remove the existing barrel. I for one wouldn't trust myself to cut off the existing barrel, replace it with something I made and then fire a bullet out of it:lol But that's me, and I'm not a gun smith.

What do you plan to use for a scope mount and flash hider?

hhmmm Id love to see pics of his Blaster.

I cant imagine doing the barrel any other way.
Always thought thats what they did to the real one.

I wasnt sure you could drill mounts into the side without messing everything up.

And..then there is the fact..that you have ruined a relic.

Broomhandles are not an uncommon gun. Broomhandles in good condition, well, that is different. I have a 9mm in my collection (heap?) that I can't bear to cut up, as it looks like it was built last week instead of almost eighty years ago. However, the ones I've converted over the years...well, they were in pretty bad shape :)

Here are some pictures of my personal gun...the formatting is a little off, but you can see the shroud over the existing barrel. The gun is fully functional (still in 7.63 by 25), as is the Hensolt scope. The parts are all machined aluminum (no cast parts, no plastic), and everything is assembled with bolts. I have an upgraded scope mount with the proper dovetail, but I'm sentimentally attached to this one as a relic of a friendlier time :thumbsup

Here is another one...older variant knobs, and another treatment of the sleeved barrel trick:

Those blasters look great!

I'm still looking for a scope moung and cradle. I wish somebody would make a run of these, since I'm reluctant to go the blast-tech route for my real HW scope...
