Could anyone please explaine how this item mold was done within a wood frame? heres the link to the thread http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=25020

I have a few items Id like to make castings of and would like to do the same style. The wood frame supports the item from the mold warping and it also preserves the rubber. I have build molds in the past where you build up clay half way up the item and build a wall around the upper half then pour the rubber, let it cure the do the lower half. Whats the procedure for this one! A good idea all around. Please help!

Sure.

Its a silicone mold. A box is built around the gun to pour the silicone into. Then they sectioned off areas within the box in order to use less silicone. Once one half is poured, the mold is turned over and the same thing is done to th eother half.
