Anyone ever used this to seal eva foam with, Its the closest product I could find over here in Australia to plastidip with having to spend $30+shipping to get a single aerosol can.
Pros- goes on thick and provides fill to small gaps, takes paint great and is pretty tough.
Cons-does not provide a smooth surface, and can crack if put on too thick and then bent too far.
OK thanks, the project I'm using it for is a EVA Foam Gibson Les Paul Guitar prop I'm making. I think the only thing that bothers me about that is the non smooth surface part. I suppose I should do up a build thread. I will do a test piece to check it out, if it doesn't give me what I want look wise I'll have lost nothing.
I tried using Rustoleum Leakseal at the same time I was testing out the body deadener for my IP build. There are trial pics in my IP thread somewhere. The surface you get afterwards comes out pockmarked and isn't very smooth, would require a lot of sanding/filling to get a nice finish. Pro is that is adheres well to the foam after a couple of layers of PVA and will harden up given time but still allow a bit of flex, however the deadener was definitely a superior finish surface.
EDIT: DocHoliday has been getting good results using spray on LET (Liquid Electrical Tape) however I haven't been able to find a decent supplier here in Aus. I found the brush on version at Jaycar. Was thinking of maybe giving it a crack at some point in the future. Just another option.
Are there any photos of the finish the Rust-Oleum produces? I've been considering using it for a short while and would like to know what it looks like after drying.
