Just checked my SU-122 and it's not there and my KV is still in shipping. Thanks for that Julian. Its a crucial bit for spacing I need to measure. :thumbsup

My eye's are about fall out of my head :rolleyes
Any way I'm about done with the basic's just have to add kit bits and plating to the upper body to confirm placement.
I need help with the dimensions of the two tubes on the upper body, outside diameter and tube thickness if possible.

Thank you,
Rob

Diameter of the rims should be 1" or very close, the walls are very thin, I would say 0.5 or 0.75 mm. I dont know what they used for that, I havent found 1" tubing with such thin walls.

Thank you Julian, Your a big help :thumbsup
here's another conundrum, Do I go with the early style face on the large block on the skirt or the more resent replacement ? Hopefully the block dimensions are the same and the face plate was just changed.

On another note check out this cool shot on set with the Probe Droid.
You can clearly see the red power wires for the light draped down the side.

Still plodding along, Haven't done much as half my kits still haven't arrived so I cant take measurements to model them but I have all my sat V's so Ive started on sizing and placement on the head. About to order the plastruct parts so I can confirm placement of those bits. Really itching to start cutting some plastic :thumbsup

More eye's are better than one so I ask for input on the size and placement on the Sat V parts from this angle on the head.

Thanks Julian, nice to get a nod from the master :cheers
So nothing major sticks out? If not I'll continue minor tweaking for the next week or untill my bloody kits come in. I think it's close but I dont have many shots of the side with the Sat V Thruster. Views like the pic here would be great if anyone can share.

Very good work Rob, but I would be cautious of making things "too neat". I've been making a similar mistake in that if you want an "exact" replica of the build its actually pretty rough. If you look at the photos in Skydivers reference the build is actually "uneven" in places, particularly around the seam around the PD heads join. Its quite gappy. Some of the armoured inserts are also a little different if you compare them. Many of the guys actual modelling skills are producing models better than the originals. The PD is perhaps one of the best examples of this.
Like you I'm at the kit collecting stages, though I've got a lot, there are a few that are proving difficult to get. Also confirming which to order from the Plastruct catalogue and in which quantities are likewise a pain. In the UK the lampshades are "uncatalogued" ,codes are different, but the guys working there are very helpful. But we will get there in the end.

Well I've got no choice now, It better work out nice after posting all these fancy renders I'll look like a dill if it isn't :lol

Stunning work Rob, sorry I've been away with work a lot recently so not been near the boards. Shoot me your email again and I'll be in touch.

Really stunning work

Glad to be back o the ground again re the PD build.
