Figured this may be a nice way to consolidate all the donor part information for Probe Droid builders. I took pics of everything that I have collected and bagged. I am sure I am missing a few parts and some may now be wrong (like the LEDs?)... but this is a great start to archive this info!

They are all from an old tooling Airfix 1/144 Saturn V. You need quite a few unless you want to cast parts in resin.

I had to do it because I kept forgetting what went where, lol. This has been "slowly coalescing" for like five sad years.
 
That can be said for all of my builds. I keep saying I'm saving for retirement, lol. Military life sometimes doesn't allow me to take time to build. I was ID'ing this model but stopped. I'm sure these pics will shed some light on any parts I might be unsure of. Thanks again, Jason!
 
There's already a thread where guys did and gave all the IDs. And your pics are not of any help for most builders without the origin of the parts. Plus you are missing several parts.

I know what you mean, Joe. Three years of unrelenting house repairs and three hand surgeries really put a dent in my personal build time. And I have had to reassess which models I really want to make, which is nice. Our collections of "stuff" can quickly outpace our natural lifespans!

I plan to update the first post with IDs, but at least wanted to get the pics all consolidated in one place, instead of scattered over multiple threads and years. I might go back and label the pics with numbers, too. I remember most of the IDs so I'll get on that. It's nice to have the first post be a clear concise road map, if possible. And who knows, maybe it will encourage more people to post/build. This place has emptied out and gotten a little negative. Time to change that.

Glad it helped! The other threads are filled with all sorts of deleted content, broken links, and bitter squabbling. This could be a concise fresh one-stop shop. I'll add more IDs soon - a lot are the usual suspects but a few were ones I kept forgetting to take note of and had to track BACK down again and again... finally I took the time to snip and bag.

I need to do that as well. Went and bought about 30 kits, and went right into casting. Now I have to backtrack and organize loose parts off the sprues.

Lesson learned for being a little to quick on the draw.
 
I have a hard time retaining the IDs across all the things I have going on, so I need to keep better track now, too. It was a tremendous step in the right direction to catalog and index all my kits into a spreadsheet, so I stop buying duplicates thinking I need them! Unless of course I do.
 
Without new blood, this place will die.

This project is an old old one done with hard work by many members here, with the data scattered and some times deleted/lost, and though it's redundant, I have centralized it all and made it visual. Everything laid out sure helps me when I go back to the well!

Updated a few more kits:
I have them all scribbled down - just double checking notes visually with kit scans since I did some from memory initially, so I should be done in a few days.
 
Thanks Jason! I have been toying with building one of these for a long time, but didn't know quite where to start. This list will help a lot.

I've searched through a bunch of older threads, and there are lots of info gaps, and you have to cross reference multiple threads that sometimes contradict one another.
 
Here's a parts question: The head and top of the body appear to be shaped like Plastruct low-rise and very low-rise domes, but I haven't found info on diameter. 6" seems to be the largest that they make, but that doesn't seem big enough. Care to shed some light on that?
 
A very talented team led by Mars, here on the boards made vacformed shells for those... I will ask him to post some more about what they did!

(more IDs coming tomorrow - deep in a paint master right now)
