Printing services?

Hey all, I've been on a paper prop kick recently(Mainly cause most are free and that's right in my budget range:lol)

But I've come to realize my printer is crap and can't give me reliable results. I'm wondering if there are any good printing services out there that can handle things like multiple part print jobs (Indy Wanted Flyer for example). Or places that van handle large prints like the Middle Earth map Adam so graciously shared with us....

The only local place was Staples but they recently switche their policy so you can't "assist" the copy associates. Too bad too cause I used to get alot of stuff done there and now I'm outta luck cause I don't trust them to d anything right without me watching.

Oh and if any of those printing services are in Canada, well that's a bonus too.

Yeah in the same boat.. Got heaps, even the Indy Diary CD but the places around here in Sydney Australia are way to costy and well my printer is fraked.. LOL..

The main issue with a printing company is that they wouldn't know if it printed properly or not if they aren't into props. You'd end up with an 8.5x11 print of the middle earth map and they'd think they did a great job! :unsure

Around here there are various office supply houses that do large format printing, and you tell them that you are not sure if it should be 11x17 or 12x14 ask for both and when you choose they just throw the other away.
Total cost is usually a dollar or so.

What do you want printed? Officeworks is ok for me.

:love Everything and anything I can get my hands on.. Yeah tried there, but seemed a bit pricey.. Asked about printing out LotR's maps on some nice quality paper and it seemed a bit too much..

I usually bring my own paper.... the office supply place doesnt understand the terms It needs to look ancient, than i have them print it on their cheap paper as a test first.

Also look at schools that have an art dept or a graphic design class.

Our community College has a graphic arts class.. Might be worth a look to see if they can hook me up.

Do you have a Kinko's or similar available? I intend to try them for the bigger stuff my computer printers cannot handle.

No Kinkos in Australia. Only Officeworks and other professional places.

We have Staples/Office Depot, but they have decided to be hard to get along with now. No printing IDs, And no "assisting them" lol
You just drop it off and hope to hell they get it right which is highly unlikely....

I'm going to buy a new printer soon but it still leaves me hanging with the big stuff..
