The writer of the new Predators movie has been found. Alex Litvak is writing a new draft of Predators. He has no credits to his name (check out his IMDB page) but Litvak co-wrote the spec script MEDIEVAL which McG is rumoured to direct.

"Bloody-Disgusting got the scoop that Alex Litvak is currently penning the new draft of Predators that's to be produced by Robert Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios for 20th Century Fox. Litvak recently wrote Medieval for New Regency. The reboot to the classic 80's action/horror flick Predator is being penned as a "sequel" and will follow a team of commandoes who face down a mysterious race of vicious monsters. The project is on fast-track for a July 9, 2010 release. No word yet on who will be directing as Rodriguez is now said to not be getting behind the camera."

The other interesting news is that the new Predators movie is being written as a 'sequel' which means it won't disregard everything that has happened in Predator 1 and 2.

i've kept my opinions on this topic pretty close to the cuff,... till now...but personally

i think it's a ****** stupid idea to re-make, reboot, rehash, re-try, regurgitate anything.

let the originals stand on their own. PREDATOR (the original worked for many reasons) it has yet to be replicated and to be honest it shouldn't be attempted

IMHO The whole of the predator franchise has been bleed to death......

maybe it's just me and i've overdosed on it..

Another red flag. Fast-track for a July 2010 release...just been announced and it'll be completed in a year and minor change. ...not even a question between it ending up being good or bad for me, more so HOW bad it's going to be. They saw that they could milk the franchises for quick money, so they're doing it. 'nuff said.
 
So who the hell is this writer? Another "fan"? Team of commandoes...fast track....translation = more ill-concieved ******** with a capital "B"!!! Maybe our worst fears have been realized...AGAIN! Let's just hope that there are a lot of changes to come before serious work begins on this. That is, if they're not already in post-production. Milk the fans and **** 'em harder if they squeal! We might need a miracle at this point. The "commandoes" are probably all rappers and everybody that gets kicked off of American Idol and Dancing with the Stars. Bow wow will probably be the commander of the unit with Marie Osmand as the final human standing in victory over the dead Preds at the end.

Well, I've often said, as much as I love the original lineup, testosterone fueled bozos may have worked in the 80s, today they wouldn't. Give me someone who looks like he's trained to kill with his little finger but has brains instead of biceps AND can act. I vote Eric Bana or Christian Bale.
 
Team of commandos hunting down a race of... didn't The S.E.E.D short film have something like that already?

Lets not start this one again, that 50 cent fan will be along soon :) Haha. Not Bale though, love him in batman and equalibrium etc etc but not for pred. If Eric Bana is who im thinking of (black hawk down?) then maybe, has that hard look minus the steroids, as does Karl Urban, someone like that for the lead would get my vote As for the early plot idea's and the rushed schedule.... oh dear. you'd think realluy that someone involved would be keeping a sharp eye on these boards if only for idea's but also to reassure us :)

Sounds very promising but we here talk like this with every new film, i hope he is in a position to make good on his words without superiors stepping in....
 
They are looking for writers? I hope these guy's find the Lair because there are a few members here that have some great pred story's written down.
 
Judging by what garbage the new Star Trek turned out to be, I am very worried about this film now. Cross your fingers everyone!!! Let's pray that R.R. has more ******* brains than J.J.!!!

Sounds like hes gonna reimagine the whole look of it and everything and it could end up looking like just some alien and not the classic creature we all know with the famous dreadlocks and mandibles that Stan created. Thats what Im getting from reading the article so Im thinking crap. And Rodriguez is completely the wrong choice as a director for a predator film. It will be as bad as Burtons reimagining of the planet of the apes. Its probably gonna end up looking like the original creature the ant eater looking thing that they didnt use in the first film. Hes gonna ruin it worse than the AVP ****.

i agree with you,it does sound as thou he wants to change the creature,but how can he,u mention the predator to anyone even youngsters n you think of arnie ,dreadlocks n one ugly mother ******* face thats makes you think ....what the ****???lol,you can'not change something that is so well known round the world as the alien with dreadlocks,skins its pray,kills aliens,cloaks itself,commits suicide when it has no other option, n changed the human race when there first came here...if he does change it i think it will be his downfall.....

:) i am off to see that next week, had high hopes! As for the comment above, that is rather worrying, they tried to humanise scar and he looked pants! Leave the formula alone please!!!

I agree. Itd be a godsend if somehow John McTiernan became part of this project. If hes not in jail I mean
