Predator2 mask Journey FINISHED.

Had alittle tinker today with certain things that were bugging me, then i added some clay to the area Maverick pointed out ( thanks again )
once id roughly done that i inserted the main eyes ( a roll on deoderant ball cut in half, from the underarm roll on thingies ) added a couple of bits of clay.

then I got bored so moved onto the head ridges. At present they are too big and still need some amendment shape wise.

2 quick pics, followed by a pic next to my wolf for size comparison.

ill do alittle more on the ridges to get them roughly in shape, then ill move onto the mandibles. possibly early next week.

any thoughts on the general shape compared to the film head?

Lee, I would give the eyebrows a lift over the eyes to increase visibility. That thing's going to be a nightmare trying to see through as is, especially with a bio on top.

other than that.......

i bio will not fit this one Carl, hes open mandibled

but thankyou anyway, i think ill lift them slightly.

Oh. I thought you had saved sculpting the mandibles for last because they were going to be a separate casting out of soft latex for the purpose of articulation. Hey, it ain't too late to think about doing that!

it looks a little wide lee, or possibly not vertical enough, or maybe both. i noticed it about my sculpt too when i compared the sculpt in the winston book to the screen caps. in the sculpt pic the dome flattens out at the back but in the movie the predators forehead is dang near vertical. i went for in between. just my two cents. it looks good though dood. cant wait to see some details.

scratch the height thing. i looked at again and i think u can pull it off, the bad news is i think it might be a little wide.

Glad you guys like.

AT present its all basic blocking out shapes and positions, the dred holes will be slimmed down alittle but not much. I start another 7 days of work tomorrow so not much is going to happen if im too tired.
I never feel i see all the bad things until his face is complete, which means i have to add the mandibles.

Carl i dont think im comfortable doing Chucks method , although it makes total sense . I dont feel as if i see all the flaws until he has his whole face, so i think its still best for me to stick in my comfort zone .

yes i know that makes me a chicken, but if i screw it up badly, id be uber pissed.

Next pics i post should have the inner ridges slimmed down and his mandibles roughed out.

then ill just concentrate on getting the shape im after.

Thanks.

Simian , the head width is not set yet, imo its easier for me to remove clay at this point. so the width will naturally be slimmed down.

as for the curve of the head, from the pictures i have im more than happy with that.

If i were you i wouldnt look at my sculpt for reference, as i see youve made a mistake i did lmao.

I started the mandibles quickly yesterday, and even though they are very very rough at present, they immediately helped me see something that was bugging me.

looks like i may get home early from work a couple of days this week so should have a decent update the end of next week.

thanks for all your thoughts.
