i too think its easier and quicker to remove clay rather than add it and smooth it and shape it and... stuff. yup i think ur heads shaped perty nicely too. not to worry lee, i have yet to use ur sculpt as reference. the reason we both made the same mistake is prolly cuz we're both working from the same reference material. would u mind telling me what the mistake is? i see a few mistakes and im wondering if its one i already know about or not. i bid u good day and leave u with this...

it wouldnt happen to be the extra dreadhole would it? i thought u concieved that extra hole urself but just now looked at the pic of rose. painting the mask and noticed that there actually is an 8th dreadhole...noooooooooooooooooooooooo . ive already reworked that once, now i gotta do it again.


hey!!! i posted an update just the other day ! excuse me for being the perfectionist that i am and only posting when i think theres somethin worth showing. ur lucky i updated at all, i was gonna wait till i had the left side as far along as the right but i ran outta clay and that would have exceeded the week time frame i had promised till an update...i cant break a promise . so... u lee

Had alittle tinker today with certain things that were bugging me, then i added some clay to the area Maverick pointed out ( thanks again )
once id roughly done that i inserted the main eyes ( a roll on deoderant ball cut in half, from the underarm roll on thingies ) added a couple of bits of clay.

then I got bored so moved onto the head ridges. At present they are too big and still need some amendment shape wise.

2 quick pics, followed by a pic next to my wolf for size comparison.

ill do alittle more on the ridges to get them roughly in shape, then ill move onto the mandibles. possibly early next week.


any thoughts on the general shape compared to the film head?

looks good ...cant wait to see it with mandibles!!! great job so far!!

Well , its my last day shift today, so hopefully i can crack on again with this thing alittle more often.

Here is what i had changed the mask to just after my last update, as you can see i had just roughly added the mandibles, and adjusted the width slightly.

i hope with these mandibles in place, it will help me see things more clearly and iron out things that bug me.

The mandibles initially were narrower than they are now, but it looked alittle static, so i briefly widend them to what you see now.

all things being equal ill be able to get most of the shaping done in the next week or so, so again please feel free to post comments and thoughts.

Due to Carls idea i raised the eyebrows slightly.

and Rob suggested i made the centre groove slightly deeper and wider which i have ( needs to be widend more still i think )

looking at it now i think its a case of ,leave mandible position and mouth as they are.

or

completely open his mouth to make him fully roar.

I am not sure about either

hmmmmm, i may have to sleep on this, as i dont think it would look right if i opend and lowerd his mandibles, and left his mouth as is.

Well its depends becauseas carl said if you were to make it partally open to close the mandibles, id leave it. But if you have no intentions of having the mandibles really close, then definatly make that puppy roar!!!

to make that fully work id have to completely rework the inner mouth i think ggrrrr

I think ill lower his mandibles and put some innner teeth in then see what you guys think of it, as far as i can tell thats the easiest action to take, and hopefully it will give a idea of whether its going to work or not.
