Hi All,

Been lurking so long, my old account was deactivated!

Ive recently (mainly due to lockdown), got back into reading comics and after starting Power Rangers Shattered Grid almost immediately fell in love with the mastadon sentry costumes.

The idea of an power ranger with what looks like a bullet proof vest was oddly appealing!

Ive not sewn before so I am pretty proud of what I was able to make. Its pretty shoddy in areas, but Ill try and hide those crimes as the build continues.

Here are some of the body armour pieces so far:

Ive still got a fair bit to do, and have been struggling with boot covers. Real cosplayers make it look so easy to make!

Ill call this boot cover iteration 1 and end up pulling it apart and redoing it at some point.

Also had a test fit and its all coming together! just a little slower than expected.

Epic! Im gonna start making a wild force blue "bat in the sun" style suit soon! Love power rangers! I love your boot covers :D what material is the vest made out of? It looks comfy

Hey Rusty 714

Thanks, the boot covers have been a bane, glue does not like to stick to rubber!

I wish i had taken photos of the vest build, I sewed it out of a denim sort of material for the black parts and the white is curtain blackouts which had a nice rough effect on one side that i liked. I sandwiched them with some pillow batting to give it more dimension which i thought looked quite nice when sewn over.

I made the actual vest structure from eva foam and then wrapped it in the fabric. It could definitely do with a rebuild as I made a lot of mistakes!

Ill see if I can take some photos to show what i mean, this probably wasn't the best explanation!

Cheers
Nad
